How the heck Tippett gets away with everything? The guy is completely useless given the ice time he gets
He's quite the rollercoaster. I don't think the flyers reclamation projects are going to turn out well over time.

Even if it worked, I think that it's a stupid play. Maybe 1% chance of scoring even if you hit exactly where you aim(low chance to begin with), no passing threat, no rebound threat, giving up possession on 3-on-3.

Much more useful to maintain possession until getting a high danger chance, and if you don't find one, carry the puck away, change, regroup and try again.

I'm starting to see why Matvei fanbois are so sensitive. Poor guy is criticized for a play on which he scored. I guarantee you he saw an opening. That's what special players do.
This . He scored , are we really gonna spin this into a negative ? Odd man chances happen all the time in ot . He took his shot . He was obviously very accurate with it / saw an opening . Kid keeps producing despite his deployment / minutes . The end .

If you think it was a 1% play, you have never watched MM play for more than 5 minutes, that's all I can say.

My first instinct was thinking "that's a risky shot in OT" but then you think about how Ullmark was probably thinking the same thing and seemed to be just going through the motions, not expecting a shot, and the game was over. There's levels

A shot is better than turning it over. He clearly has the talent and confidence to turn it into a goal.

He's tried that play a lot of times without it working. Happened to work this time. Not a big fan of this player, he has a few tricks and knows where to go, but the skill and dynamic ability are not there to be a star that some think he can be. Not sure if he ever gets there. He's been getting points but he's not getting them in a way that translates into sustained success.

If a Canadian or American player did that everyone would be hyping him up.

Alas he's a greedy self centered Russian that plays the wrong way in OUR beloved sport.

Good players find angles to score goals.

The end.

I don't think it has anything to do with his nationality look at some bedard threads you see the same thing and types of comments , people just love trying to be smart and calling kids busts ahead of time , they can hide 6 years later when nobody calls them out on it. I think the *generational russian prospect* term really ruined some peoples day
