Hoping he can hit 1PPG this season. He's at 22 in 24.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like Celebrini will have to hit a higher PPG to win it over MIchkov due to games missed.

If he doesn't hit 70 games and he's not like a clear favorite based upon playing so much better per game than everyone else, it becomes hard to give the award to a guy who missed so many games.

I don’t think Celebrini will keep up the scoring pace, he’s not as offensively gifted as Michkov, and if he gets injured again it’ll make his case even worse.

Celebrini with 1 secondary PP OT assist in the last 2 games. The NHL season is tough, it's hard to expect an 18 year old kid will play it all hot. Michkov at least has been playing professional hockey for the 4th season. Of course he's never played more than 48 games in those seasons, but I think Flyers will help him to manage his stamina. And there will be big ehough break for the 4 Nations.

Fully expect Michkovs scoring pace to actually pick up as the season progresses as long as Torts remains patient with him.

I think 80 points is actually doable if he plays 70-75 games. Especially if he gets to play with Konecny again at some point.

Against primarily 1st liners. Not 3rd liners like Michkov. Usage argument doesn’t work when you have tougher competition and Michkov gets a ton of PP1 time.
His TOI in the first 9 games was 19+ minutes and he had 8 points, so almost a PPG. If he played 20 minutes every game instead of 14 min. he would definitely have more points right now. Also it will be a shock to you, but the first line does not always play against other first lines. I understand you are upset after 0+0 -3 from Celebrini but that is really not an excuse for your nonsense here.

Nonsense? The Michkov Mafia at it once again. 2 of your crew got called out in the poll threads and one of you brought up Celebrini, not the other way around. Otherwise, I don't even comment in this thread.

If he played 5-6 more minutes per game, he might have more points, sure but it's not guaranteed. Not to mention he more than makes up for it with his PP minutes. And I don't need your patronizing bs. I'm well aware that your crew isn't the sharpest tools in the shed as they've proven in other threads but Michkov mostly plays on the 3rd line against other 3rd lines. He occasionally matches up against other 1st and 2nd lines and even 4th lines. There is no getting around that.

Celebrini and Bedard, no offense to them, play on tanking teams. They get unconditional icetime.

Michkov has earned every minute of icetime he's gotten under Torts, playing for a team that is fighting to make the playoffs and putting up these numbers. This is much more impressive.

You're a Sharks fan and you're having a beakdown in a Michkov thread. Who's really coping here?

The Sharks are not outright tanking like the Hawks. Have you watched us play at all this season? We just won 3 in a row (also beat the Kings 7-2 and recently beat the Caps during that winstreak) until Tampa Bay brought us down to earth. Celebrini earns his minutes. He's been one of our best players in the majority of the games he's played. He was literally leading the NHL in zone entries and puck battles won.

Nah, I'm not doing anything of the sort. Calling out the Michkov mafia that lashes out at anyone that criticizes Michkov (or even defends the players they're disparging in comparison) is not a "breakdown" or "coping." You're the one coping about Celebrini. Implying he doesn't earn his minutes.

Other kids are probably good too. This is the one I watch most, and he certainly has some pretty good offensive skills already...the shot is pretty darn good...the sense for a pass is good...around the net, he has no hesitation, same with break-aways...and the willingness to have the puck, move around, and identify good-to-great opportunities is keen.

His circling from the left face off dot to the blue-line to the right-hand side (facing the goalie), all the time facing the net...well, he does it a lot.

He may not be the very best at anything. But he's fine for the Flyers.

P.S. He's a bit tough too, in that he'll break through any defensive contact if he has the puck and he wants to. And goes willingly into any NHL-level contact when it's his turn.

He's the best at knowing where the puck is going to be before everyone else.

Isn't Granlund their 1C?

Granlund has been playing on the 3rd line with Smith recently. Celebrini has been on the 1st and 2nd line and experimented for a game or 2 on the 3rd line with Smith + Goodrow.

Hm but somehow Granlund plays more than Celebrini, and both are on PP1 and don't play PK.

Well, Michkov has already played top minutes this season and produced very well. Celebrini, on the other hand, looked terrible with Goodrow. Probably having good linemates is much more important than playing against "easier" opposition. And what kind of argument is this about PP? Celebrini doesn't play PP or something? Honestly, there is clearly envy here, because San Jose could have drafted Michkov but instead they drafted some random dude, probably because he is the namesake of a famous actor or I don't know for what reason and now you're mad.
