Watching Michkov these preseason games and he looks a lot heavier than before. He’s built like a block and is impossible to move off the puck. What’s his weight now?

Best player on the ice for either team tonight. He really has a knack for finding a way make things happen in the offensive zone, even when it looks like nothing is developing.

This game Michkov did not play his offensive game like a typical winger, more like a traditional center actually, pretty unique.

Slows the game down sometimes, sets up teammates numerous times towards space and into chances, behind the net presence to distribute while body shielding at times.

Looked kinda like Forsberg almost.....

And what about shit goaltending on any given night? Or net-front traffic? Or deflections? You don’t need an elite shot to score in the NHL. Mike Hoffman has a better shot than Jack Hughes, who’s the better goal scorer?

Same with Zibanejad over Kreider. Look where Kreider gets nearly all his goals — breakaway, deflection, and rebounds.

The key is getting open, not being noticed, and getting off shots before the defense can react, which Michkov mastered at 15, more so than Bedard. Ovechkin has a career shooting pct of 12.9 and his one-timer was the deadliest in the league for over a decade.

Michkov, elite shot or weak, is a natural goal scorer, end of story. He would have scored 70 in the CHL last year.

How many times out of 10 should a player with an above average shot score with this much net in the clip I just posted?

Has a seat at the same table, shoulda went 2OA 100%.
Agreed, but Bedard is undoubtedly in another tier

Based on what exactly ? His rookie season was decent but nothing to write songs about. Absolutely atrocious defensively and numbers are not even close to McDavid/Crosby/Ovechkin rookie years. He’s not on another level and never been, they were toe to toe during their junior years while Russia was in competitions.

Definitely not

Michkov compared favorably to Bedard at every age group, including now. They're the same tier

is he better than Bedard ?
