He`s certainly among the top in the draft where they draft just by how the name sounds

Huge points producer in MM (2.5 ppg), one of the top in Ontario.
Drafted #14 by London.
Rookie year, played sparingly on a stacked Knights team, for a coach that doesn't play rookies much. Got into 25 games, or so, but many games less than 2 mins ice time.
Worked hard over the summer and came back strong.
A PPG player right now, playing mostly 2nd/3rd line and PK.
Strong forechecker, responsible on the backcheck, tenacious PK work, and a good fighter in puck battles. Good hands. Hockey IQ and vision is off the charts. His feather passes are fan favourites. Won the Knights Skills Competition for Shooting Accuracy (beat Connor McMichael).
Lately, with 5 Knights at the WJC, he's stepped up.
Last year, many Knights fans were thinking he was a dud as a #1 draft pick. This year, fans see he's untouchable and key to their future.
And yes, I am a Knights fan, watching every game.

Not surprising if you got to see him in minor midget. Very skilled and very smart. He was almost as good as Perfetti on the power play.

Gets no recognition outside of London
But anyone that watches him sees a level of hockey intelligence and vision that is second to none. He developed late here and the Hunters were patient last year. They saw the potential.

However, because he wasn't ranked high in pre-season, he's been off the draft radar until recently.

A PPG finesse player that can saucer tape-to-tape passes, fight corner puck battles outnumbered, and snipe ....
Um, yeah ... gonna be talking about him in June.

The London Knights have an impressive history of developing NHL talent in recent years. Under the leadership of Mark Hunter and Dale Hunter, they also have a reputation for slowly developing their young talent. For this reason, when 17-year-old winger Luke Evangelista earned a big role on this year’s team it made prospect watchers take notice. Evangelista made the most of the opportunities he was given. He put up 23 goals and 38 assists for 61 points in 62 games. While Evangelista did get plenty of even-strength time, he did not get much on the power play. Only two of his 61 points came with the man advantage.

Evangelista was the 14th overall pick in the 2018 OHL Draft. He did not make a big impression in his rookie season though, scoring just two assists in 27 games. He was a scratch throughout the Knights 2019 playoff run. Evangelista also played for Team Canada White at the 2018 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge. He scored just one assist in five tournament games. Evangelista comes from a hockey family. His cousin is Toronto Maple Leafs president, and Hockey Hall of Fame Player, Brendan Shanahan.

I like his all around game, he has nice hands and vision. He's not a first round talent but I would be happy taking a shot at him with a late second-round pick, depending on who the fallers are. I think he could be a good middle sixer, probably second-line upside until proven otherwise, for better or worse.

It'll be interesting to see how he plays when he's relied on to be the driving force of the team. He had McMichael to rely on this year, but McMichael could be in the NHL this coming season.

Evangelista is a tenacious playmaker. Definitely willing to go down low to retrieve and distribute the puck.

Really really should play in some pro league this season, instead in the OHL...

1.25 goals per game avg and over 5.00 shots per game avg this season in the OHL...
