Will he be eligible given the amount of games he will play this year?
I just looked it up. He's played 11 games and Nashville has 13 remaining, so the most that he can play is 24. So, yeah, he'll be Calder eligible... along with Bedard.

The only thing abnormal is the 4-point game. The rest of his points were spread out over the other 10 games. A player isn't streaky just because he had one big game, especially in a sample size so small. In Tim Stutzle's first 11 NHL games, he had a 3-point game and no other game with more than 1 point, yet he wasn't streaky and didn't end up as a middle 6 winger.

When 45% of your points come in one game, yeah - you are. Most young kids are in the NHL. It’s not a bad thing.

Alex Chaisson had 7 points in his first 7 NHL games.

I have always liked Evangelista. Just pointing out something I have noticed.

We’ll see how he progresses going forward. He’s going to be a nice middle-6 piece for the Preds.

Nothing streaky about an 11 game sample size for a rookie where you’ve put up points in 5/11. That’s much better than expected for a 20 year old. The fact he’s gotten a big multi point game doesn’t mean anything.

He’s scoring how you’d hope for him to. 27/49 in the AHL and 5/11 in the NHL. Everyone who’s not PPG kid is putting up similar game lines putting up points. Even some who are PPG. Maybe 20 players in the league putting up points consistently game to game.

Giroux is sitting with 68 in 71 games, and has gotten points in 42/71. Extremely consistent player.

In other words, he wasn't streaky until that game, and the next time that he gets a point, that percentage will drop to 40%, then 36%, then 33%. It's simply not a good argument when you couldn't have made it a couple of days before and it's virtually impossible for it to hold up, IMO.

Also, I wouldn't call one game a "streak." Streaks tend to refer to multiple games in a row. If you're just trying to discount that game as an anomaly and figure that he'll maintain a 5pts/11gm scoring pace rather than 9pts/11gm, you should probably just say that. To me, calling him streaky because of it is doing the opposite by putting a lot of stock into a single game, which isn't smart to do in this sport.
