I thought the plan with Letourneau was that Boston College was going to bring him along slowly because he came from a prep school league with really no other competition. The skills are there, but his development is going to be a process. He's got the size, he's got the skating, but he's a project.
As for Greentree, he's a beauty of a player. Los Angeles got a good one in him. Once again, a bigger player so he's going to need time to adjust, but there's so much to like. I used to go to games in Owen Sound and Guelph and watching Windsor was a treat. He's such a good player. The one thing you didn't hear about is how well his positioning is. He always knows where to be on the ice. He's similar to Michal Handzus in that sense. Handzus was also one of those guys that just knew where to be at all times. You can't teach that. Incredibly smart player. I like players that. Yes, he's got physical skills, but the mental skill is impeccable.
I'm glad to hear this from the outside as well because that was one of my observations at camp
rare big kid who already knew how ot use his size well, protect the puck, wasn't just 'growing into it' (obviously lots to learn yet though)
Was excellent at using his teammates, which we frequently dont' see from high end prospects, the guy was an absolute give-and-go bot creating everywhere
Just seemed to 'get it' with respect to the flow of the game and his role. He's obviously raw and has a lot to soak in, but he's got a pro-ready game otherwise, especially mentally. often at camps especially first timers/kids end up doing a lot of standing around, looking around, hesitating/thinking, so pretty much NONE of that with Greentree who knew exaxctly what he wanted to do, where he wanted to go, and how to problem solve to get there. I haven't been that impressed by a forward prospect at a Kings camp in years, only similar guys I can recall are Clarke and Doughty and that was a different position
