Yep, underwhelmed with other aspects, IQ, finesse and skill, IQ and skating. If he can turn those things up a notch he can become decent.Have watched very little of the games, so this is coming from highlight-watching, but from that it looks like advertised: it’s all about his shot.
I think his shot is good enough, that he could find a place on an NHL roster, even if the rest of his game remains very average.
As a sharks fan, music to my ears. Hopefully he can build out a well rounded game and have a shot at sticking in an NHL lineup.I appear to have jinxed him offensively as he's cooled down a lot in generating chances and using his shot in the last couple of games, but he's been great defensively and physically, blocking shots, getting his stick in lanes and lifting sticks, and finishing his checks. His chances have mostly come from his playmaking but his shot is still just as deadly. He's also been much more of a net front presence recently which makes sense given his size but I'd still much rather see him on the point or half boards. Clearly becoming a much more well rounded player though.
Little bit concerning to look at his PP production vs even strength production though. I would like to see more even strength points.Hat-Trick
12 goals in the playoffs, still leads London in goals.
Knights are absolutely trashing the Generals in the finals..
2 blowout W's
Realistically, I don’t think many Sharks fans are expecting Halttunen to be anything more than a third line winger and power play specialist if we’re lucky. He is what he is.Little bit concerning to look at his PP production vs even strength production though. I would like to see more even strength points.
but that's not bad thing though, right? every team needs a PP specialistRealistically, I don’t think many Sharks fans are expecting Halttunen to be anything more than a third line winger and power play specialist if we’re lucky. He is what he is.
No, that would be a huge win for a 36th overall pick.but that's not bad thing though, right? every team needs a PP specialist
3rd line and PP 1, bags 20+ goals each season, pretty nice additional scoring if you ask me

It’s not common, but it happens. Just this season the Sharks deployed Thomas Bordeleau on PP1 and on the third line at even strength. Power play specialists are a thing. But these type of players don't really exist in the NHL. Usually the players who are good enough to play on the top6 play on the top powerplay as well.
He gets put on the first or 2nd PP often, but he routinely plays on the 3rd line in London. You would see him putting up more ES points if he was playing with Barkey, Cowan, McCue, or O'Reilly. His linemates in Oshawa have mostly been Brustewicz and Nicholls, neither of which are particularly good offensively.Little bit concerning to look at his PP production vs even strength production though. That his brother who played for the Kitchener Rangers.Brzustewicz had 79 assists?
Ah mb I reacted without thinkingThat his brother who played for the Kitchener Rangers.
That's Hunter, who is a legit prospect. Henry is uh...not that great, currently at least.Brzustewicz had 79 assists?
this is surprising2 more goals (one currently being credited to Bonk, but went off Oshawa skate and in) and a tip in means that's another hat trick for Haltunnen and the most goals by an import player in the OHL playoffs ever.
