So HIFK has scored the least amount of goals so far in Liiga. 23 goals in 15 games. That's about 1.5 goals per game. When you look at that lineup, how is that even possible?

SM liiga video referee has reviewed Colby Sisson's hit on Kasper Halttunen.
Sissons will face SM liiga disciplinary actions. At least 5 games suspension is waiting Sissons.

Don't ask because that conversation doesn't belong to this thread.
If you have any comments for HIFK's game use Finland and liiga conversation section.
Lets keep all comments in here on Halttunen OK?

Fuuuuuuuck that’s a really, really bad hit. Super dirty, straight to the head extremely hard. I’d be absolutely shocked if he’s not concussed.
You're absolutely right.
Clear headhunt straight on head it is miracle if Halttunen hasn't got bad or severe concussion.
This might hurt Halttunen draft stocks if he's out long time and misses most of the season and U18 WJC's.

And because Halttunen is underage ( 17 yrs old ) in Finnish law
HIFK cannot even comment Halttunen's situation because SM liiga's competing rules prohibites that.
Finland also has very strict laws on all health and patient informations so if Kasper's family says no comments
then HIFK GM Tobias Salmelainen needs keep his mouth shut.

I try update more if there is any new information.
These hits are those what you don't wanna never see even in NHL.

Sheesh that was dirty hope the kid is alright.
So i do.
Halttunen was one Finland's best forwards in past U18 WJC's this spring.
Halttunen absolutely was and is still in my papers potential dark horse
to make Finland's U20 WJC team in December

Halttunen won't play tonight's SM liiga vs Ilves.
HIFK has added Halttunen injury list and his status is day to day.

Sissons suspended for 6 games.

6 games is enough.
Halttunen had his head down so where did anyone expect that hit come if not straight on head.

Well the hit would have been mostly fine if Halttunen hadn't attempted to dodge it, which made head essentially the only place that got hit. Otherwise his body would have gotten the brunt of the impact.

I really wish these young players like Halttunen knew how to receive a hit, they'll get destroyed if they ever end up in NHL.

Sissons should pack his bags ,what a crummy POS

Hope Halttunen is OK. That was a dirty hit no question
Well if Halttunen got himself up on the ice without help that should tell something.
HIFK mentioned their Instagram post before Ilves game Halttunen was hanging near
the lockerroom with smile on his face and looked being totally fine.

He didn't play vs Ilves but if he was in the arena and hagging with his teammates
we can wait his comeback soon but first he needs to pass all concussions tests so that will take some time.

True.
But it is too late now Sissons is suspended 6 games and NOTHING won't change it.

You're right on that if Halttunen is serious with his NHL dreams and possible career there
he must learn to take hits like a grown adult man does if he truly wants to play over 100 regular season games.

If the scouts saw how Halttunen skated on that situation and took that hit
there will be at least one questionmark in Halttunen's scouting report regarding his NHL readiness and physicality.

i like the kid - and think he‘s a first rounder.

but every time I think of the kid, I immediately think of how Craig Button was lamenting over the kids game at the Hlinka and how he was one of the top-5 players in the draft.

I have no idea what you’re watching because it surely ain’t that Sissons hit on Halttunen. Halttunen makes absolutely no effort to dodge the hit, literally has no idea Sissons is even coming.

If he has no idea a player directly in front of him is coming, he probably should not be playing hockey with his eyes closed.

I can't know his intentions, I just assume his last second change of direction and position was due to trying to dodge the hit. It could have been coincidence of course - I'm not a mind reader. You apparently are.

Nope, i just have two working eyes. There is no change of direction whatsoever, to claim there is, is either blindness or just plain stupidity. Knowing your posting history it’s most likely combination both tho.

Halttunen looked pretty good against Jukurit in Liiga today. Got some shots on goal and was active. Looked like one of HIFK's best players. He has 12 shots on goal, 0 goals and 3.3% on-ice shooting percentage this season in 10 games so far. Only has 1 point, but clearly he's been bit unlucky. Also HIFK is the second lowest scoring team in Liiga this past season with 53 goals in 28 games. Their leading scorer has 13 points in 28 games. Playing on such a low scoring team probably also affects his production. His TOI has also been a bit low at 9:12.

I see an opportunity here for me to learn about hockey stats....

Shouldn't the percentage be 0% if he didn't have any goals?
His team is shooting at 3.3% when he is on ice.

Found this explanation from Hockey Writers:

"A player’s on-ice shooting percentage refers to their team’s 5v5 shooting percentage (including their own) when they are on the ice. This can be used to gauge how fortunate or unfortunate a player and his linemates are in receiving favourable or unfavourable finishing luck."

Since 3.3% is quite low shooting percentage, Halttunen is probably unlucky that he doesn't have more points.

Didn't make Finland's WJC team. Disappointing draft season continues...
I do wanna see Halttunen getting drafted to playoff team
like Ny Rangers, New Jersey, Colorado, TampaBay, Dallas, Toronto, Florida, Seattle etc.
Than some rebuilding purgatory hell like Arizona, Philadelphia, Buffalo, Anaheim, Columbus.
