Just find all the insecure jersey fans that want to rip kaapo at every turn pretty funny, as if it's been concluded they will 100% take hughes instead. would like to see how they back peddle if shero decides to take KK instead. haha

Except it is 100%

How about this thread be about Kaapo and not about him having to be #1.

@Hischier and Hughes

Nothing personal. You've formed unhealthy levels of emotional attachment to your Dear Hughes. That's fine almost everywhere else than in this thread. One thing you don't seemingly realize is that if majority of us emotionally attached Kakko fans have already adjusted themselves to 'Kakko to Rangers' -scenario, for most of us it doesn't become overwhelming disappointment if that scenario doesn't materialize.

Very rare (if any) most vocal (and emotionally invested) Kaapo fan will lose his face in hypotetical scenario where your violently advocated agenda fails to meet the reality.

Its only ill-fortunate if NJ picks Kaapo, and that primarily from Kaapo's perspective, only secondarily from Kaapo fans' perspective.

Its like Win-Win, you know.

Wait youre saying Kakko should be disappointed going to NJ?

What even

Its win-win that Devils get Hughes and Rangers get Kakko. Thats the order. Wish people would discuss the prospects and not the order

I am guessing that both Hughes and Kakko rather play in the Rangers. No offense to you NJD-fans ;)

I like the factual reality where Kaapo finds himself in the organisation and among the fan-pool where he is both needed and welcomed.

It's Rangers at the moment.

I really hope that The Best Available Player will be picked by the team, picking second.

A player like Taylor Hall prefers NJ as he can get everything NY players get without the unnecessary media and fan attention outside

You do realize NJ players live in the exact same areas right?

No, they don’t.

There’s a few Rangers who live in Manhattan, but most live in Westchester.

There might be *a* Devil who lives in Manhattan, but most of them live out in Western Essex County as a residual from when the team practiced out of West Orange. Kovalchuk lived in Alpine, but he was an idiot. The commute into Newark off of 280 is infinitely better than any other approach.

@H&H: Its actually very absurd feeling when you notice that you hope that the best player would get passed by the first picking team. Personally I have nothing against NJD (hardly know anything about the franchise). I simply simulate in my mind what it could mean to Kaapo personally, and to Finnish future prospects if 'NY Avenue' would get really opened by Kakko level specimen of the Finnish Hockey Syndicate.

I think also optimal future scenarios here. If NJ picks Kaapo, I'll relatively easily adapt to that as I have no personal relation to the team or its fortunes, misfortunes and history.

Kaapo in NYR simply would work better in long run (for the Future of Finnish hockey), and that also from extra-rink perspectives. NO! I don't invent this idea here alone. Esa Tikkanen, and quite representative group of people has stated/hinted something similar along these lines...

On my behalf you can keep your Jack! :)

Geez...fellow Finnish fans can be insufferable with their hyperbole.

That being said, Kakko has proved that he and Hughes are in a tier of their own in their draft class. Both Devils and Rags are gonna get hella good ROI on their picks.

Bunch of babies here. The emotional attachments to these two are crazy.

It’s acceptable to think players would rather join NYR than NJD. This is demonstrated by recent free agent history and the additional benefits that come with being a superstar in a top market. Analysts are saying that Zion lost millions in sponsorship out of the gate by landing in New Orleans instead of New York. That’s just how it is. Not all players see it that way, but many do.

I like the stuff like the silly/cocky practice shootout goal. I'm sure he knows stuff like that will be posted online and maybe he wanted to show off his hands. He seems endlessly ambitious and doesn't seem too fazed with the media hoopla.
