Maybe be if he puts up 70+ points he will start getting some love. Some people are still saying he can't play in the nhl. Everywhere he has played he has proved people wrong. Too small, to slow, can't shoot. Perhaps if he Leads the Ahl in scoring he can get some love. Also the has grown since he was 18 and is not small anymore at over 5'11'.

Well, people doubted Connor Brown too, said he was too slow and not good enough for the NHL despite lighting up juniors and having a decent AHL career. He scored 20 goals in his rookie season and worked hard over the summer to improve his skating but he regressed in almost every other way and now he's just kind of a meh third/good fourth liner.

Anyway, if Brown doesn't get moved there are too many RWs ahead of Bracco on the depth chart for him to get an extended look, barring a long-term injury. If he can move to LW, maybe he'll get a shot next season.

I don't think there is any doubt that Brown will be moved in the off season.

Highly doubt it. 90% of Bracco's offense comes from the right face-off dot. He is a pure RW.

Kapanen might be a decent option to switch to the LW. He's spent short stints on the left side with the Marlies earlier in his career. Bottom line, there are options and if Bracco is good enough, which I believe he is, management will make room.

Brown is an important part of the PK - which we lack personnel for. We need to keep him, plus he's a Toronto boy!

Anyone can PK. You don't pay 2M for PK ability.

Brown's cap hit is almost going to be more than the entire 4th line will make next year combined. He'll be gone 100%. Just no room for him.

Anyone CAN pk, but not everyone SHOULD pk. You need the grunts like Brown who can do it and accel at it. He may be the easy target to trade, but I'm not 100% the Leafs want to. They'll be creative enough to figure it out.

He has 27 games to get 21pts to reach your arbitrary 70pt cutoff

Offensively ready for the NHL. Personally feel he brings/will bring what Nylander does and will be at a much more affordable rate. If im Dubas, Nylander is moved this off-season.

After starting the year with 3 points in his first 10 games, hes had 50 over the next 42

I see why Dubas didn't want to give him up. He's got top 9 potential. His skating is actually pretty good, very good edges. He's kind of like Kadri in the skating aspect in which he's not a speedster and doesn't have that top end, but good first steps to get to pucks, strong on skates and good edges. Naz has found a way to get breakaways this season and throughout his career only being an average skater and Bracco seems to find similar success. Smart skater as opposed to being explosive.

For me, Jeff skinner is a nice comparable in terms of his skating ability. Puck handling, he reminds me more of Huberdeau

Can someone give me a quick and tempered rundown on this kid? Strengths, weaknesses, how they feel he could translate etc.

If possible try and not overhype the player at all which can be common with teams prospects. Thank you

Small, slick, not the fastest but technically a good skater with great edges, very good vision, plays with energy consistently.

His offensive ability should no doubt translate and could remind people of Skinner (Not saying as good) but with Bracco being more of a facilitator vs goal scorer.

Like most smaller players and especially for the Leafs coach much will come down to how he is defensively and responsible when having the puck.

A good prospect that should provide nice value for whatever team he plays for.

Elite playmaker. Bracco currently leads the AHL in assists (39) as a 21 year old. He skates similarly to Skinner in that he loves to use the 2 and 10 mohawk turn that opens up so much room for him on the rush. The entire PP runs through him similarly to Marner at the top of the right face-off dot.

He's projecting to be the offensive force that Leaf fans hoped he would be on draft day. Sheldon Keefe thinks pretty highly of him and his character development (credit to sticky111):

"You look at Brooks and Bracco, I think those are 2 guys that we'd like to see step up, and thats's exactly what happened here today. Bracco's been good for us all season, but with the players we have lost, it has to go to another level, and one of the things about him is with the energy and the passion that he has, it's a big part of our team on the bench, in the locker room, and those kind of things, so despite being a young guy, he's bringing that to the table. So that's an area he's stepping up, and he really wanted to win this game today. You could really tell from the passion he had starting on the bench and that manifested itself into positive energy and I think the team can feed off so, those are two guys there that are important for us."

So he has reached the 70 pts mark perhaps I should have set it at 80. Maybe now you can give him some love. He may still have a shot at leading the Ahl in scoring with ten games left. Show him the love.

LOL. Let's get real here. Brown is not some kind of Selke candidate defensive phenom. He's just an above average PKer. The difference between him and just about any other forward on the roster is not going to justify him locking down one of the twelve forward spots on the roster.

In fact, I would expect someone like Johnsson or Moore to be able to quickly become just as good on the PK as Brown, given that they're faster and more skilled.

Reality is, Brown is only a highly regarded PKer on this team because Babcock likes him. If he weren't here, Babcock would have some other favorite.

Just turned 22 last week. Interested what the Leafs do with this kid, not much room on the big club at RW behind Marner/Nylander/Kapanen/Brown. Currently tied for AHL scoring lead.
