Glad it wasn't serious. The goal tonight was a snipe. Jayce sure can shoot it.

People can argue about 'goal is a goal' all they want. I look for a guy who can rely on his skill to score, not random chance of being around the net.

I find that Jayce scores a lot of quality goals from distance.

Problem is most goals in the show are scored by being around the net. Not that is a problem I've seen with Hawryluk...he can score all sorts of ways.

Quality goals from distance are less likely to translate IMO.

I generally see this guy rated a mid to late 2nd rounder, what exactly is holding him back(I would assume size?). He put up some nice stats for a average team

Portland is certainly being served what they've been dishing out over the last few seasons so far this year.

Several posters on HF Jets keep alluding to something the Portland owner did and league sanctions levied against the team for it as the current cause of Portland's massive suckitude this year.

Didn't watch, has it been a lot of luck and the team working well or is he actually dominating offensively.

He has been playing very, very well. Seems to be carrying the puck on the string a lot of the time. Obviously there is a little luck here and there, but he has been hands down the best Wheat King so far I'd say.

How has Quenneville looked?

They're on the same line together and Q also has quite the stat-line right now.

Hopefully they have great chemistry all year and both progress.

76 points in 46 games thus far this season (8th in WHL having played less games than those above him). Anyone who watch him regularly care to comment on what his upside could look like at the pro level?

Edit: Make it 78 points in 47 games.

Kid is on a tear this month.. has much better playmaking skills than I first thought... unreal energy grit and forechecker. . Good on the boards... upside is maybe a better playmaking gallaugher?

Haven't seen him much yet but everything I hear reminds me of Trocheck. A little grittier though.

I've seen a ton of Hawryluk, more so last year, but I love his game.

He is very much like Brendan Gallagher. He will do anything to win and has enough skill to compliment top tier players.

His size will not hold him back.

Well deserved. Get this guy playing against better competition now. He has nothing left to prove in junior.

That's all well and good, but how will he handle the rigors of the NHL? He's doing fairly phenomenally, but last I saw, Brandon was the highest scoring team in the WHL. he'll at least get a look see at training camp, unless he pulls a Josh Ho-Sang and sleeps in on the first day. :)
