I think PSEG poster and one other made that bet if Lokti didn't do that, they'd leave the board and never return.

Looks like Lou saved your skin, PSEG, by trading him away.

yeah I say we let pseg survive via Louphole.

There were more than few people that thought he would be a great fit.

Problem is too many people think speed is the most important thing in the world.

Let's be real, the fact that Ruutu can still skate/has regained his skating form is a big reason he is looking so good thus far.

I admit the player we are seeing is much different then the player I expected. And the difference is speed.

Some Finnish fans were on here saying this exact thing regarding his Olympics.

Speed is the most overrated thing. Ruutu looks as slow as he did early this year. Difference is he will fit nicely with Zajac and Jagr.

These are the same people that said Clowe would be crap for the exact same thing. There are many other hockey skills/abliities that are more important than speed.

I'm in general agreement about speed, however Ruutu does not look slow.

There were. I was cautiously optimistic.

I'm not sure what's more ludicrous though - 1) to go bat**** over a trade the day it occurs, or 2) reverse that opinion after three games.

I was very optimistic and still think Ruutu will be great for us as long as we have Jagr and Pete next year.

I would vote for 1. We traded a RFA that had trouble sticking in our lineup for a hard nose vet with a history of scoring 10+ goals.

A lot of people claim to watch a lot of hockey, but it mainly is their teams games and highlights. I would bet 95% of the people complaining saw Ruutu less than 5 games over the last 2 years.

Zajac slows the play down with his style of play. Would never call him a slow player.

Yeah, speed is more of a defensive asset, especially when you have defensemen constantly making bad pinches at the offensive blue line. Offensively it's nice to have but not necessary because you can let your passing make up for a lack of speed. It's like they teach you in mite hockey, no one skates faster than you can pass the puck.

5 goals, 19 points, -11 in 34 games played is what you expected from Slowe for 4.5m?

I kinda expected that from Bernier this year.
