I don’t know what some posters here are on about... this was the game of the tournament so far with both teams showcasing their skill and grit.

Refs did a good job in my view.

first time in a long time my heart was racing due to hockey, I’m so happy it’s back!

This.

It was a close edge of your seat type of game, that was fantastic competitive hockey.

Good point. I forgot we haven’t conquered Finland yet. I see the top team in our division as the only one winning their QF. The three top teams in the other division are really good. Looking like Canada, Russia, Sweden, and US in the Semifinals.

Yeah, Suomi can never be looked past at all. They’re a strong team again this year.

One game at a time.

I liked Askarov, he is a magician the way he sees through crowds and find the puck. He has a great glove too. Wallstedt is fine but seems to be a positional goalie without much adjusting to the play.

I agree, I was very impressed with how he always manged to get an eye on the puck. However I would probably feel more confident with Wallstedt in goal than Askarov right now, just so calm and well positioned. And we definitely saw some of the "leaky" stuff the studio talked about with Askarov. Or some, atleast once.

Askarov doesn’t play like he’s 6’4”. He plays like he’s 5’10”. He needs to get to Nashville and get some coaching. Phenomenal talent though. Can’t teach his size and athleticism.

Rooting for Canada to win against Finland and beat the Czechs in the quarters.

Rooting for the U.S. to beat Sweden in regulation.

Rooting for Sweden to beat Finland in the quarters.

All that equals the easiest path for Canada to the GMG. All likely.

But if Wallstedt had that fast glove hand of Askarov he would have taken the 3rd russian goal.... (maybe not haha). I agree, Askarov is more "interesting" and Wallstedt more predictable.

Bro, you barely beat Russia and I mean barely. What are you talking about?
Don’t let slaughtering Germany or Switzerland get in your head too much.
Let me ask you this, and I won't argue with anything you answer...

If you had to wager your LAST $1,000 on one team in this tournament to win Gold, who would it be?

Yup incredible game, hfboards GDTs are absolute cesspools, it gets even worse during international tournaments. Sad really that some people are too busy bickering to enjoy the best game of hockey we've seen in what 6 months? Both teams were great.
