Russia needs a USA win in OT/SO tomorrow to win the group. They would win the 3 way tie at 8 points.
Thats why I feel sorry for him, he lacks speed and agility, which makes him look awful.

Once russia killed off those penalties they held the play for way more time during this game easily

He definitely wasn't awful. He was clearly injured and his skating was hampered because of it but he didn't have a terrible game, especially considering he played the most out of any defensemen.
Well, we finally got a close and competitive game! Felt nice for a change!

Lol. Russia had barely anything between the first period and OT (which they were by far better in). A couple of good chances on the counterattack is about it. Russia also got away with tonnes of stuff. Spearings, slashings, high sticks, delay of game, etc. More than makes up for whatever weak calls (not to mention they won the game off one).
