What I meant was Russian TV replayed the 2011 GMG (last year) fooling a good chunk of the country. They watched and thought Russia won. They found out after the real results.

I honestly don’t understand why some dislike him.

I find him to be entertaining and a battler who can make a big save after giving up a questionable goal.

He has some character and the game can certainly use more of that imho.

I’m not one of those dismissive Americans. I know going back years now this tournament is huge in other countries besides Canada. When Finland win gold beating Sweden in Sweden, didn’t pretty much all of Finland shut down? Also, I am also a soccer fan so it makes me roll my eyes when Americans think soccer is stupid and not realize it’s THE global sport.

The true diehards, those that live and breathe hockey types from any country know how big this tournament is in the hockey world. It’s not just Canada that cares immensely about it.

It’s such good hockey, sucks not to have fans because these kids definitely feed off it, but it’s popular because the hockey at the top levels of this tournament are fantastic every single year.
