I'm not so sure of that. I've seen the replay 3 times now and it looked to me like Pronger was putting the puck where the three Canadian players were so they could dump it down the ice.

He panicked, and simply whacked at the puck from what I saw.

And even if it was intentional, it was still dumb. Tie up the puck behind the net, shoot the puck around the boards is the safe play.

We need a Trevor Linden on this team. Who has the heart to step up?
