No way Nurse gets moved without an equally painful contract coming back.

Don't see the Hawks having that kind of player, and Seth Jones is a much worse player and vastly worse contract. No thanks.

Full NMC?? That pretty much is the nail in the coffin for any sort of trade.
Meh. Players waive all the time if they know they're not part of the current team's future. Much better to have a change of scenery than ride out a contract in no mans land or sent to Robidas Island.

Besides, something has to give if the Oilers have a hope of reupping Connor or Leon, and resigning Bouchard, the players with NMCs are the obvious targets to go:

Kane - the obvious choice, but going to be a hard sell with his last two seasons. Maybe someone can be sold on goalscoring track record

Nurse - pretty obvious now a change would be good, but could be an issue moving him and keeping Connor and Leon. Also, the issue of taking a bad contract back that has a chance to rebound.

Nuge - Fan favorite, but a weak season and an underwhelming postseason again. Have to consider it

Hyman - beauty player, if he's capable, probably hang onto him, but selling high has to be a consideration if we're losing Connor and/or Leon and reloading.

Kane is going to have to go to pay for price increases to the core pieces, but that doesn't have to happen until after next season and I don't really think it's going to have to be much more than that.

Cap is going to rise here and we're going to create 3M more room buying out Campbell.

Wtf? Who are you watching? A ~70 point, 2 way center who leads the PK, is crucial to the PP, and steps up to over a PPG in the playoffs while somehow making the equivalent of guys like Strome and Rakell, cannot be described as underwhelming

4M cap increase. 3.5M from Campbell buyout. 2.6M from Foegele walking, 3.3M from Ceci getting traded. We got cap space

Next year is a retool year for us. But it's a healthy retool. We get younger and faster.

The way I've looked at it, it'd be easier to offload Ceci and Campbell than Nurse, so I'd say let Kulak play with Nurse, and if that doesn't work, then we find a better partner for him. Yes, it sucks Nurse has to be sheltered for a $9.25M Dman, but I'd rather we do that, than trade him off for an even worse contract/player. He has his warts, but he does show up every now and then when playing with the right guy. Trading him off would be a big story, but a BIGGER one is seeing Edmonton win a Cup WITH Nurse.

Not bad, think I would rather.

Ekholm - Bouchard
Kulak - DeMelo
Broberg - Desharnais
Kemp/Wanner/Hoefenmayer
It's not going to be easy to move Nurse and his NMC.

DeMelo would be a nice addition and a good replacement for Ceci tho

If we can LTIR Kane, we can fit him in.

Sure, but instead of just assuming that, we can, as fans, can approach the offseason where the team moves on from Nurse.

Ceci is done here.

They probably move Kane as well, don't LTIR this stuff.

Let's replicate another Grubbe deal and snag some more Red Deer Rebels. I'd have time for Ben King and if the under 20s go back in the draft, Mats Lindgren could be a target for those late picks.

Mathurin is a very solid stay-at-home D. He's just missed a ton of time.

He and Paul Christopolous were one of the best shutdown pairings in the OHL this year.

You cannot be serious about Nuge. He's NOT having an underwhelming Post Season. He's been tremendous for thier success. You must be thinking Foegele. Lol

I think Nugent Hopkin's holistic game is covering the bet this playoffs. Top forward minutes on a stifling perfect PK which has been a critical asset for a Final 4 run; safe, surehandedness on the team's top PP unit; productive while also defensive forward support for either McDavid or Draisaitl lines.

Most important consideration is universal coaching love for the player's hockey processor and game that touches all aspects of this team's game. A fan favourite for many but also lightning rod for other that see the player differently than the 10 or so NHL coaches he's outlasted and his teammates who see and appreciate the Swiss Army game delivered.

Who knows what to assume, unless you're Bobby S. But if they are resigning McDavid, Drai, and Bouchard to pay increases, where does everyone fit. Nuge is a bargain for the numbers he puts up. But he is not a difference maker in any part of the game. This is a dollar and sense matter. And you could get some value for him.

Oiler fans don't like trading a player when their value is high, but if you can't get rid of Nurse for a reasonable out someone has to move. Bouchard's value is highest as well as Hymans.

Honestly, I think Nurse waives and gets out though. Not sure if it's this year or next. Kane will be moved as well.

I don't want to dine and dash but I have to head off to work.

I wouldn't mind signing Amadio if the price is right.

That #3RW spot has been a gaping hole forever. I feel like he's a guy who would play well with Drai if they needed him to move up the linup in a pinch too.
Nice big body that has some scoring touch, should be a value contract.

I want Amadio just because it's fun to say "It's-a me Amadio!"
