So Barrie is gone for sure now.

Our defense is (likely) going to be

Nurse - Bear
Keith - Larsson
X - Bouchard

Hoping we can get Murray, pair him with Larsson and then run Keith - Bouchard though.

this is a god awful D. If this is what we start the season with we are F’d

I’m fine with people expressing displeasure, but the people going on like this is somehow worse than anything Chiarelli did, tests my patience.

Agreed. I don't have a problem with people not happy with the trade, but I do think a LOT of people here are discrediting him and his skills. And we all damn know well that when a player goes from a place where he feels it's time to move on, they tend to get a new burning fire under them and they are rejuvenated again. It's not like Keith was just plain awful the entire time. He just can't play the top pairing minutes like before. He will figure it out again and he can be that winning veteran we needed badly.

He sucked at trading in Detroit too. He should just stop. Draft, develop. That's it. Maybe dabble in UFA market to try to fill holes. Even there though, similar history as Chia, overpays, NMC's.

Marino was never going to play here and AA and Green were covid casualties.

AA was terrible here and doesn’t appear to have done very well in LA either. There is a guy Holland saw every day and still was dumb enough to trade for him.

AA scored 3 goals in his first 3 shots in LA!

Then 7 in the next 44 games :) Same player. Light as a feather, streaky, comfort zone playing for zero stakes. Think you can trust Yzerman's feel on players, he robbed us for a guy he knew wasn't gonna be useful on a good team.

I think he can actually help transform this team in terms of their approach to the post season.

I think this team has been starving for leadership and it’s telling that one of their most important leaders was Smith.

I also do think he has some game left. Is he still the guy he was in his prime? No, but I think Tippett may be able to better manage him better than Colliton did.

Eh, AA did alright with LA. He should be playing on a soft minutes 3rd line with a good 3C. He’s playing too high up on any team so far

Honestly I’m more perplexed by everyone always complaining about the Green trade. It was a nothing pick for a guy that likely would have been a really solid rental (maybe better than Kulikov but at least around the same IMO). The reason the trade sucked was entirely out of Holland’s hands. Green gets a freak injury and retires because of Covid. How was Holland supposed to predict any of that?
