Good news about missing out on Nick Paul: I don't think we're missing out on much.

Bad news? That was maybe our only way of dumping Kassian.

No your a 100 right but with Holland not doing much can't help the case

I have a feeling that regardless of how well it goes between now and July 1st, Holland won’t be the GM (if bad, fired, if good, promoted to irrelevance). Could just be indigestion though

My optimistic side says that if Holland were after run-of-the-mill replacement players, a deal might have been done already. He has surprised us before. "Expect the unexpected."
My optimistic side is Holland only has 1mill to spend and he is struggling to find a defender that cheap that is better than Lagesson or Russell

Anyways, CapFriendly says they currently have 1.7 M. If they move Archibald and Lagesson, they'll get another 2.25M, giving them close to 4M. I'm probably missing something, but there are still ways for them to boost their available cap and have other teams retain.

This isn't accurate. The trade would just have to be conditional. And teams would go for that because the '23 draft is deeper than the '22 draft.

Exactly. They can make the condition to essentially dicate that the other team gets whatever pick Chicago doesn't (not worded that way, obviously).

Dorion seems to be in TB's pocket. We don't have a Mathieu Joseph, but they've already seen how much TB inflates their fourth liners when they took back Paquette in the Gaborik deal. And that 4th is garbage for Paul at 1/2.

Dorion also facilitated the Giordano deal by taking back Hamonic. What a schmuck.
