Problem solved ... trade Nuge, sign Ovi to play McDavids wing, and try to keep Barrie at a reasonable hit.

Ovechkin McDavid Puljujarvi

It looks like a mighty fine top line. ;)
Whats the max salary again? I dont think Ovi considers Edmonton even if we dangle 14M per contract to him.
If he is seriously chasing Gretzky's goals record we may have a shot because McDrai.

Winnipeg is going to get the reputation, if they don't already have it, as being a scummy franchise.

Why? They had Comrie initially and placed him on waivers for the purpose of putting him on the taxi squad. Unfortunately he got claimed so they then claimed Forsberg.

The real issue with the whole waiver claiming fiasco was Carolina needlessly claiming Forsberg to begin with.

How about we keep Nuge AND spend 7M on 2 other forwards?
Oilers have 25M to spend this offseason. Buy out Neal and put Klefbom back on LTIR and we get even more.

Free agent market is projecting to be very weak. Ovi, Nuge and Barrie may be the 3 most productive UFAs.

Ya we can theoretically extend Nuge, Barrie, Yamo, and still easily afford to bring in a legit goalie. Heck, if we buy out Neal we could also probably bring Hall back

Wells AND Skinner getting claimed would be a good thing. It would open up 2 contract spots to sign new goalie prospects

Pretty sure that both are waiver eligible. I'd give Skinner another year or two but Wells as far as I'm concerned likely doesn't get another contract from us.

Didn't really f*** the teams over. It f***ed over Forsberg from getting actual NHL starts.

He said he grabbed Forsberg because he thought he could trade him for an asset back to Edmonton or another team. Holland gave him the middle finger and didnt play his game. That team is driven by their asshole owner who thinks he's the smartest person in the room at all times. Carolina has rapidly moved up into my top 5 teams I want to see fail hard along with the Leafs, Flames, Ducks, and Vegas.

I want no part of Hall. We are in a position where we need to invest heavily in a goalie and we have some cheap ELC and 2nd contracts that will be expiring in a year or two. We need to see what we have in Holloway, Samorukov, Broberg, etc, before investing heavily in forwards or defensemen unless it is a no brainer situation. If we need to buy out Neal or Koskinen (both?) to take the next step as a team we need to do it. But we can't go overboard on overpaying the likes of RNH, Barrie and Hall before they become the next "Neal" contract.

I was being facetious ... but what a top line it would be.

Of course, if Ovi were to reach free agency, everyone knows he would end up playing for Toronto. ;)

(I am being facetious again.)

Hall is the only one I worry about turning into Neal. Nuge will age well, and Barrie is on pace for over 60 points this year (paced over 82 games obviously). The last time we had a dman put up 60+ points was Paul Coffey. And that was in 1986/87. We absolutely must extend Barrie if his ask is even remotely fair

I thought they can't even do that without waiving him first?

How much do you estimate for Yamo, Nuge and Barrie?

Yamo 2 Years x 3.5m
Barrie 3 years x 6m
Nuge 6 x 6.5m

Is what I would feel comfortable paying on all of them.

Leaves some money to maybe make a deal for Kuemper, sign a 3C and maybe look at bringing in another 3-4m dollar winger.

Just out of curiosity what would it take for posters to part with Dylan Holloway for some immediate help. I don't underestimate Holloway or deem him a throw in, I'm of the opinion he could be playing in the NHL now and will just keep establishing himself as a NHL player year after year.

How would the league's GMs value him? He should have absolutely been a top ten pick.

Archiblad is the only guy in the bottom 6 better than Slepy.

Lure him over again. Fits the 4th line, so Oilers can max out the best of bottom 6. Ennis Haas Archibald would be a good 3rd line.

Pushing Khaira Chiasson to 4th line, theow in Ntgård as a fast skater. put in Kahun in 1st line, because who else would play there..?
