Call about Saros. They’ve got a lot of big money on the books and lots of NMC/NTC on that money, maybe ownership would want to get that 70M off the books before his NMC kicks in.

You only get 3 retention slots and NSH is already using 2, they can only retain once more till Johansen comes off the books this summer.
I'd guess they will retain on Nyquist since that is an expiring contract.
I’ve heard from well placed sources that you can’t squeeze guys in this league, so better manage your expectations.

Last year the market for scoring wingers dried up before Holland could get his hands on one. $1M left just burning a hole in our wallet.

Well Flyers "terminated" Ryan Johansen's contract, but NHLPA filed a grievance, so I believe it is dependent on the outcome of that grievance which has yet to be resolved, maybe the NHL will allow NSH to operate as if the contract is terminated, but I don't know.
After several starts and stops of a rebuild, bad signings, worse buyouts, and several bad trades under his belt - it's pretty safe to say that Trotz should have stuck with coaching.

I'd be ok keeping our powder dry if we're circling the corpses of the Rangers and Sabers. They both have RHD I'd be very interested in, as well as GMs desperate enough to part with them right now. I'd include Nashville here, but they've been picked pretty clean, lol.
