How in the world is Henrique not a 3rd liner?
The Oilers will be overloaded at forward when Kane and Arvidsson return. What do you mean not enough talent? They'll have 7 top 6 forwards when Kane returns so they'll have a guy that has played his whole career in the top 6 on the 3rd line when healthy then you have Podkolzin, Kapanen, Janmark, Henrique, Brown, Perry, Ryan, Philp.
They're loaded at forward. Granted, a lot of it hasn't clicked yet but there's a lot of talent to work with, old talent but it's there.

I was going to post yesterday when he went on waivers about hoping we might put in a claim but didn't think Bowman would bother or that he'd even get to us.

There is a smidge of upside here. Like the smallest bit of daylight he makes good on his combo of size, skating and smarts to become a steady #4. Think a Tanev lite. I am curious where he fits but if he gets a real shot next to Nurse maybe there will be something here.

And yes, it's nice to see us trying things out after whiffing hard on more pedigreed D who were available before this- but if this experiment fails, there won't be any option left but to make a trade... even with Bowman/JJ wanting to avoid one at seemingly any cost.

Plus minus is generally dumb but he did lead the AHL in that category last season.

He's also an ex London Knight and it's pretty clear Bowman has tight ties with that org.

Interesting pickup, former London guy who blossomed under Dale Hunter there and even played a bit with Bouchard as well. Good skater, has had to learn to lock things down defensively. Certainly an interesting bet with some pedigree and has a familiar face in his former D partner Bouchard. Wonder if this is a Parkatti targeted guy.

So far Bowman / Jackson seem a lot less shy about making claims off the waiver wire (Holland was frustratingly unwilling in some cases). Decent hit on Kapanen, maybe this 24 year old rangy RD could be a solid 7D, rotated in when they need more size in a game

They coaching staff is clearly happy with the group overall and likely don't trust Dermott much, which explains his very few starts over the last month (it seems)

Only way this works is during TDL we have 3 milluon (at least) freed up after acquiring a Dman or Goalie (something this needs much more than another forward)
