Probably, but I'd say it's more worth the risk than Gibson. Hasn't his health been a question too the last few years? The problem with that is Dostal is probably untouchable.
Seems like Gibson has been in the league forever…31 is still young for a goalie. The dude is 31. We used a 40 year old Mike Smith. He has more mobility than a younger Skinner
Which is an odd thing to say about the 1A-1B thing. He’d be going into the same role in Carolina with Andersen back.Per Friedman in 32 thoughts...

He also adds, Gibson's chosen destinations were Edmonton and the Canes
I’d be leery dealing both goalies away. Having two new guys come in and learning the way the team plays and also recognizing individual tendencies can lead to a lot of goals against. Having one familiar guy to help him adapt might be the better way to go.Stuart+ for Gibson 50%.
Pickard+2nd for Vejmelka 50%.
Ofc they will who wouldn't. Every one and there dog knows oilers are triue #1 away from multiple cupsThey'll bend us over a barrel, no doubt.
How many playoff games and or wins dostal have??,Probably, but I'd say it's more worth the risk than Gibson. Hasn't his health been a question too the last few years?
He has as many wins as Gibson does since the 2017-18 season. How many playoff games and or wins dostal have??,
I support this.Let's start brining in more Anaheim players. Perry, Henrique, Gibson and Rakell
I don’t know what kind of relationship Perry & Gibson had when they were teammates but hopefully he’s been in his ear.Let's start brining in more Anaheim players. Perry, Henrique, Gibson and Rakell
Does Carolina have enough assets though? They gave up a lot for RantanenNot sure we can outcompete the Hurricanes honestly. They have a management group with a history of actually being serious about loading up(must be nice) and are more easily prepared than Edmonton to offer Gibson the prominent role.
Anyone who thinks the Oilers are going to abandon Skinner and go with Pickard as the backup has not been paying attention to how the goalies have been deployed.
Plus, say what you will, Stuart Skinner as a goalie is a much better return than Pyotr Kochetkov.Does Carolina have enough assets though? They gave up a lot for Rantanen
Yeah I'll take the goalie with the career playoff save percentage of .912 over the goalie with 99 Career games under his belt all day long thanksHe has as many wins as Gibson does since the 2017-18 season.
Yeah, but you assume that they would win them this year, and get credit for last year, and that's just not how it works Tambo. We win the next 3 cups with Gibson in net
Hey Oilers fans. John Gibson looks like a good fit, but you're being willfully ignorant if you think acquiring him to replace Skinner is a move with no risk at all.
The goalie that's 11-13 all time in the playoffs? The one that got absolutely dummied by the Sharks the last time he was there? The one that put up a .888 sv% as recently as last year? That one?Yeah I'll take the goalie with the career playoff save percentage of .912 over the goalie with 99 Career games under his belt all day long thanks
What would be the risk? Injury? That can happen to any player. Oilers already have the worst goalie in the cap era to have started 20 games in the playoffs. The risk is you get a goalie to be worse than the worst?Yeah, but you assume that they would win them this year, and get credit for last year, and that's just not how it works Tambo.

There's probably more risk in extending Bouchard at 10M than trading Stuart for Gibson.Yeah, but you assume that they would win them this year, and get credit for last year, and that's just not how it works Tambo.

Put up a .888 save % being on the worst team in the league giving up amongst the most high danger chances in the league vs our guy having .909 save % playing behind one the most defensive teams in the league giving up amongst the lowest high danger chances. Hmmm, wonder if hat would happen if the roles were reversed…The goalie that's 11-13 all time in the playoffs? The one that got absolutely dummied by the Sharks the last time he was there? The one that put up a .888 sv% as recently as last year? That one?
You like the sieve in our net better? The guy who has 1980 numbers against top teams and playoff teams? The goalie that's 11-13 all time in the playoffs? The one that got absolutely dummied by the Sharks the last time he was there? The one that put up a .888 sv% as recently as last year? That one?
Absolutely f***ing not, but ok lol. There's probably more risk in extending Bouchard at 10M than trading Stuart for Gibson.
Gibson can steal us games when Stuart couldn't
How many games can Bouchard steal for us in a season vs Gibson?Absolutely f***ing not, but ok lol.
