Marchand is having the worst "fancy stats" year of his entire career this year (outside of his rookie year). I know he is still putting up points this year, but 25% of his points are PP points, and he wouldn't sniff the PP on the Oilers. His metrics are tanking, he is 36 years old, and he is relying on the PP for point production. I would be quite hesitant to give up anything of real worth for this version of Marchand. Not saying he can't help, but he isn't anything close to the player he was a few years ago.

Most GMs would have signed Skinner. Who doesn't want an extra 20 goals added to the team? This is on Knob to sort things out or bend some rules. You try and get the best out of your players regardless of warts.

In hindsight you give into Holloways demands and leave Skinner to sign elsewhere. Having said that, it's easy to look back and say that with the seasons each player is having. Prior to this season, Holloway had injury concerns and only scored 9 regular season goals in his career, while Skinner was a lock for 20.

We're held back a bit by the fact that we did some stupid things last summer. Dumolin has played the right side before in Pittsburgh and is a 2 time Cup winner, he should be able to slot in here without much of a fuss.

Fabbri is just a roll of the dice. Arvidsson has not worked out here thus far, Fabbri is a younger player who has had some 20 goal pace seasons in the past. He's also apparently friends with McDavid, not that that makes a big difference but it's a nice bonus I guess.

Really sucked him and drai were injured rendering them useless. Drai sometime at the end of Vancouver series he got injured in that series.

They traded away sprong deharnais and heinen (hometown guy). He doesn't give two shits. Now Marcus Pettersson, a great trade, is about to sign a long term extension. Doesn't seem scared to sign

I understand that, but he's not a spring chicken anymore either. I do hope he'll be a force but it might be a lofty expectation after being hurt so much the past couple of years.

To be fair, he's also not playing with any drivers, and is expected to be the driver on his line which is probably past him at this point. The Bruins are an offensive black hole generally.

I think he would be extremely effective riding shotgun with Leon. After Pasternak he's the next guy in the pecking order expected to drive offence and that just isn't him anymore. Playing with a superstar is different.

He had a rough start to the year but his defence has been fine since, he's clearly working hard and not pouting, what more do they want from him. It seems so obvious to go McDavid, Draisaitl, Nuge down the middle, especially with Perry playing so well.

I'm not willing to write off either him or Arvidsson. I think Skinner pots 20 if he gets elevated in the lineup, and Arvidsson's S% will bounce back. I think Arvidsson especially will breakout in the playoffs.

Yeah they may not be slam dunk adds, but they're are more bonuses, Gibson is the main add.

Dumolin isn't a sexy add but he is a no-nonsense meat and potatoes veteran D with lots of playoff/Finals experience who can likely fit in fine with Coffey/Knob's system.

It seems pretty clear at this point that for whatever reason Knob isn't willing to give Skinner a shot next to McDavid or Draisaitl.

To me it doesn't make sense to not at least try it before the playoffs start. We have 82 games to figure out our best lineup and we're doing a disservice to ourselves by not at least seeing how Skinner would do in that situation. His increase in production could very easily outweigh the negatives he brings with his supposed lack of defensive ability.

We have to be somewhat realistic here though we don't have like a ton of 1sts to throw around, we don't even have a 1st for the immediate coming draft and Jeff Jackson made some big errors last summer, probably not everything can be patched up.

We made due in last year's run without a perfect roster, probably gonna just have to do it again.

Dumolin is better than Ceci or Desharnais that we managed with last year, knows what playing deep into the playoffs is all about, is 6'4, can play both sides. Probably not going to knock one's socks off but can play in Knob/Coffey's system likely with no fuss.

Also unstack the top line please. Having only one line that can score isn't something that works in the long term. Never mind that they suck on the defensive side of the puck.

You need to be carful how much change you make to a roster. Chemistry and locker room is very important.

Also we need to stop taking Emberson out of the line up. IMO he plays ALL DAY LONG over Klingberg

You are right that maybe trading Savoie isn't the smartest, but this has nothing to do with Holloway.

I just want young assets out the door to upgrade the team and will be upset if we just add a 4th line guy.
