The guys getting paid to assess goaltending say he's fine, so here we are.

And yeah, Skinner wasn't great against the Canucks. Why does that matter and not his work afterwards? Again, Bobrovsky was one goal away from complete disaster. Do the Panthers care?

What utterly ridiculous framing.

"Skinner wasn't great' -- NO. HE WAS f***ING HORRIBLE. It's NOT the same thing.

"Bob was one goal away from complete disaster" - HE STOLE MULTIPLE GAMES IN THE SCF, and his team WON because of it.

I swear to God, everything you write makes me think you're just a troll. I find it impossible to believe that anyone with an ounce of objectivity could come up with such inane drivel.

Well then you can’t whine when he gets hot again and people claim it was a mistake not grabbing him.
It's only being brought up now because we had to hear weeks of a giant whinefest about how the Oilers missed out on this great Blackwood opportunity. It made it a real chore to post here.

With that said, I get the skepticism about Skinner but Blackwood isn't some great miss by Oilers management which is the overall point here.
Still, would like to see a Pickard upgrade to push Skinner but they seem intent on running with Skinner/Pickard so it doesn't seem to be in the cards.

Saad agrees to a contract termination o_O

That's a lot of coin to give up on. Would 1000% sign him for league min if he was interested, he'd still have a ton of use as a bottom six winger who can play up the lineup briefly if need be.

With his caphit higher than his salary for next year, are the Blues on the hook for any caphit next year?

Saad is still an NHL player, just depends on fit. Is he a vet that can still contribute to a contender’s bottom 6? Or is he one of those guys that will play out the rest of his days on a bottom feeder. I wouldn’t mind giving him a shot but we have soooo many bottom 6 wingers right now.

He had 26 goals last season. With these guys, I think you have to at least try them with McDavid/Draisaitl, because if it clicks it opens up so many options. I'm sure Bowman will be interested.

I think with this coaching group it’s been clear that you don’t have to just score goals, you have to be defensively responsible- which is why they play Janmark over Skinner. I think Saad is a much better fit than Skinner, but is he good enough defensively to be an everyday middle 6 player for Knob?
