Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread | With Klingberg in the Mix Who Are Our 7D After the Deadline?

The Skinner problem is off the books this summer at the latest.

You can't trade him for a longer more expensive problem.

I don't disagree, but a better 2C option improves the team, especially if one of McDrai ends up banged up and can't run their own line down the middle

I'm not able to see tweets anymore on mobile for some reason. What's the context?

NVM... It worked.

Not shedding one single tear about any Blues loss this season.

Ohhhhh myyyyyyyy

Zero chance this can be done without gutting the team of any depth we have.

Agreed, if we're flipping Skinner for Saad I'd want picks coming back we could use to fill other holes. St. Louis owes us anyway, why let them out of a problem contract for free?

Rantanen isn't happening. Don't even bother entertaining this idea.
It’s possible because Bouch has lowered his value by about 3M per this year.

They’d have to trade/LTIR Kane and probably Arvidsson too but it’s definitely possible if Rantanen is willing to sign for around 11-12M.

Strickland has called things before. Edmonton would have to do some serious maneuvering to make this happen though.

RNH, Kane and Henrique would probably have to go, and maybe you're letting Bouch bet on himself better with a 2 year extension.
Not RNH but arvidson most likely

If Katz isn't worried about how the exchange impacts his hockey team, you shouldn't be either.
Katz should be worried about how poorly we draft and manage our assets.

Better yet I'd rather him not be involved at all.

If you keep adding elite players eventually the “rest of the lineup” starts to have some elite players in there.
It's not really working out well in Toronto, though.

Yeah and it didn’t work in Tampa either… until it did.

You have to give yourself the best shot. If it doesn’t work out at least you don’t have any regrets about not going for it.

I mean we have two, possibly three of them. Part of the reason we keep losing in the playoffs is the rest of the lineup not contributing enough.
The Oilers would be losing Jeff Skinner, Arvid and Kane who are hardly helping the Oilers at the moment in order to sign Rantanen. The rest of the roster remains the same.

Tampa succeeds because they draft super well, not because they went whale hunting every July. Imagine getting a Brayden Point in the third round.

I have no idea how they would make that happen, but these forums would burn to the ground if it did.

The signing of McDavid, Rantanen and Bouchard this summer would look like this

Oof, that's a grenade of a rumor.

Ratanen would have to take a cut, along with Edmonton shipping out a few players.

Will have to pay attention a bit to how he does in Carolina, he was carried pretty hard in Colorado and this is his chance to show that he's more than a sidekick.
