My God dude, take a lap.I never took offense to that... that wasn't what you were saying.. Are you 12? Realize you are being dumb so try to make it look like you were arguing something else?
If it comes at the expense of a tangible defense upgrade that's a downside.People complaining about Klingberg is like people complaining about Evander coming to the Oilers at 1M. There's zero downside
I'm not the one paid to do that, and the ones that are say he's fine.
lmao.. I wasn't talking about Ceci... so...Not sure what you were watching, it wasn't moving the puck why we couldn't score its because we overpassed in the offensive zone and nobody would make a tough play in a tough area to get a quality scoring chance. So what will you say when the goals dry up again, as they do in postseason competition and we let in goal after backbreaking goal. Blame the goalie for not being Grant Fuhr at the back?
And I'd hope the OIlers would get someone with a better overall game than Ceci, seems silly that you project his poor second half of the season onto all crease clearing defensemen.
If it stops us from getting a top 4D? Well that means Klingberg was good enough for the top 4 D roleMy God dude, take a lap.

It really doesn't, and I don't think he will be. Dude's been out of hockey for quite a while. If it stops us from getting a top 4D? Well that means Klingberg was good enough for the top 4 D role
Definitely should make the team deeper, but another defensive option would be best. You need alot of these guys for injuries and struggles.I completely agree. It is an interesting experiment. I just can't believe how salty people are. Like.. if we signed him for 4 million or something, sure, but 1.75 is nothing. If he can give us 75% of what he was before the hips got too bad to play, its a win. I also think that even if his skating is sub par, he will give us more that Stetcher is...
Yes, totally agree. In a perfect world, Emberson is sitting for the playoffs and is a injury replacement because we brought in enough guys to push him out. If we have a guy like Emberson sitting, we are in really great shape.Definitely should make the team deeper, but another defensive option would be best. Out of hockey for quite a while? Dude... he played last year...It really doesn't, and I don't think he will be. Dude's been out of hockey for quite a while.
Jonathan Toews hasn't played much longer. Most teams would sign him in a heart beatIt really doesn't, and I don't think he will be. Dude's been out of hockey for quite a while.
Okay, I'm not really that interested in him. We have enough old on our team.Jonathan Toews hasn't played much longer. Most teams would sign him in a heart beat
Half a season with no training camp is quite a while. I don't think anyone should expect him to hit the ground running.Out of hockey for quite a while? Dude... he played last year...

The Oilers would be a dynasty if everyone was in their prime. If Toews did come back to play, imagine our bottom 6 in the playoffs:
E. Kane-Toews-Perry
Janmark-Henrique-Brown
That right there 8 years ago would be an allstar team.
Not sure how much cap space there will be next year have two significant raises coming, one is already signed and who knows how much we will over pay Bouchard. And then the year after there will be an even bigger hit.I love the idea of Seth Jones... even at 6.5 per year. Should be able to afford it next year as cap goes up as well.
If the reports are true that the cap could be $97M or $98M next year, the Oilers would have a ton of space to work with. Not sure how much cap space there will be next year have two significant raises coming, one is already signed and who knows how much we will over pay Bouchard. Keith wouldn’t even be able to get out of bed with klingbergs injuries, but apparently it shouldn’t affect klingberg when playing hockey.I mean he explained himself why he had such a hard time defending. Why you purposely ignore that his injury clearly had a massive impact on his game the last couple of years is beyond me.
Things are going well on the Island.
I'm ok with thatFor the same price, I rather go after Ryan Pulock.
What part of "He wasn't great defensively even before his injuries" is so difficult to understand.Keith wouldn’t even be able to get out of bed with klingbergs injuries, but apparently it shouldn’t affect klingberg when playing hockey.
Damned that would just awesome. The first domino to fall leading to Pulock becoming an Oiler.
His defensive game wasn't elite before he was hurt, but he wasn't as useless as he was when he was banged up. He literally said himself he couldn't move so it was hard to defend off the puck. What part of "He wasn't great defensively even before his injuries" is so difficult to understand.
Lol he wasn’t a tire fire either. What part of "He wasn't great defensively even before his injuries" is so difficult to understand.
I just explained why it makes sense. But Klingberg was never a great defender even at his peak. This is just a signing that makes no sense and has very little realistic chance of paying off big.
Unfortunately it also fits the larger pattern of Bowman not wanting/bothering to offer actual assets for actual solutions. He's been a massive disappointment thus far outside the Podkolzin acquisition, you can't be just trading 3rd/4ths or pillaging waivers at this point in our competitive window. You have to go all-in.
