Personally I prefer to upgrade Pickard. He has done admirably well in a backup role, but I want someone who can challenge Stu for the starting role. Vejmelka, Lyon, or someone like that.

They should really be looking at Vejmelka, he's had success, he's a pending ufa and being the opposite handed will present a different look.

Liked him in Columbus, can play a lot of mins as well, but don’t know if we have the assets to get him with 50% retention. Have not watch much of him this year

The other thing that worries me a bit is not finding a good enough upgrade to play with Nurse. Nurse has played well this year but he’s traditionally a guy who has been fine in the regular season but folds in the playoffs. I do think he’s brought it up a level this year. Sure some of that was Ceci but I hope the team isn’t just assuming hes going to carry his same play into the playoffs. Go and get the best possible player/fit you can and give him the most help you can.

There was a lot more than 1 unlucky play against MacKinnon. Bouchard looked lost many a times defensively against Avs and got caught standing around covering no one. He like most others was good enough but not 'faboulous'. Ekholm didn't look great either but he may be fighting through an injury.
Also, still not doing much on PPs.

I wanted Edmonton to try and trade Broberg for him before the offer sheet fiasco.

GM's know this. They're waiting for the Canucks to get to the point where they'll give Miller away for the good of the other 19 players on the team. Unless Holland lands a job before the deadline since you can't squeeze other GM's...

Provorov is likely the best Dman out there that can play the right side.. won't come in cheap and there are no guarantees that he would be better than Ceci playing RD.

Also, Nemec for Savoie might work for both sides.

Yeah, the D man who had a 24-7 SCF rate, and a 12-2 HDCF rate was fabulous.
