Even Cam Talbot would have been a great choice, but we know his wife and him would probably have never came back lol

He is 6th in Save% Above Expected
4th in goals saved above expected

He is basically up there in most stats (played 7 games thus far)


I remember him popping out of nowhere during that 2004 lockout. Surprised he is still around. Would be nice if true.

The Oilers should have brought him back on the cheap multiple times in the last 4-5 years (they had chances to do so).

Instead the front offices here prefer to smell their own farts and let it ride on the Koskinens and Skinners of the world, even though Talbot is a better goalie than those guys.

I think they got scared in part by how much Bouchard's camp could use that as leverage. If Broberg is 4.6m for basically 7-8 decent games, then what is Bouchard, who put up Paul Coffey like record breaking numbers in the playoffs worth.

I don't see how it could be used as a comparison since it was an offer sheet. Bouchard would be comparing to players like Makar, Fox and Hughes, which is much worse for us.

You keep me entertained by your stubbornness and bias to certain players. Addition by Subtraction for Ceci (duh). No one can argue that Bouch has been any better than Nurse this year. He has been brutally lazy and giving it away.

Did you watch the last game, can you except that Nurse was better than Bouch? If not then you either didn't watch the game or are just bias.

Another question, how much would you pay Bouch for his next contract?

Would need a third team to retain on the Sharks players since they can't, but that will be the cost of business for San Jose to move anyone this year.

TBF, he was kind of the same to start last year. A lot of people were saying get rid of him, he's not going to be worth it, PP specialist only etc

We'll see by the 25 game-ish mark. Granted, I do wish he'd have more points by now but idiot would rather throw a wrister or pass off than to throw a bomb on the PP more often than I like

The common denominator there seems to be that Ekholm was hurt to start last year and took some time to get going, and arguably hasn’t been himself to start this year either. It’s a little short sighted to want to get rid of him, but at the same time giving a guy a 7 figure AAV on his next contract when he’s really only found success paired with Ekholm is also a scary thought when you know Ekholm’s decline is coming.
