Walman plays the left side? How about a package of Blackwood and Walman?
You are asking for 50 percent retention on both? What are you thinking for trade assets going back?

The problem with that is SJ can't retain on any more contracts. We would have to pay a 3rd party broker.Walman plays the left side?

It certainly complicates things since SJ has no retention slots left.Walman plays the left side?

oh so not retention slots j. skins has a nMC? They would like a '26 first + Beau Akey and of course will take Pickard back? HmmmmIt certainly complicates things since SJ has no retention slots left.
AFAIK we were thought to have interest in Blackwood last year as well, but they waited for Skinner to turn it around and nothing came of it.
Package? I would think J. Skinner as a cap dump, a couple of picks & a prospect we don't waits nt to give up. I sincerely doubt they would be looking to move S. Skinner, so I wouldn't be shocked to see Pickard end up in the deal or elsewhere.
Haha, I was realizing more as I was typing up the response it probably wouldn't be the best idea.oh so not retention slots j. skins has a nMC? They would like a '26 first + Beau Akey and of course will take Pickard back? Hmmmm
If Im a new GM not sure i would make this deal lol.
Not tryin to knock your idea but its a hard path to make the logistics work. There are other simple cheaper alternatives that likely are just as good or better.
Lets hope that Bowman is at least talking to Grier expressing possible interest while we figure out The D situation, and the possible other alternatives to Blackwood. If Grier decides to move Blackwood then at least we would have notice of negotiations. From a timing point of view getting the right D for the right price gives whatever goalie we bring in now or eventually a better shot.Haha, I was realizing more as I was typing up the response it probably wouldn't be the best idea.
Definitely think that Blackwood will continue to be a consideration if our goalie situation continues to be a challenge, though.
I only read the tweet but any way to listen to this?I wonder who Bob was talking about today. RH dman that might not be on the radar...

I'll be cracking open the Vodka real soon.Spitballing here:
Jokiharju
Carlo
Zub
Pettersson
Pulock
Fowler
Ristolainen
Provorov
Jiricek
Most likely he means Deangelo.
I'm getting my Russian Vodka ready
We have two players that are capable of playing 2C in RNH and Henrique.I would consider getting a 2C so that McDrai can just play together.
Goalie, Top 4 D and 2C in that order of priority
Add Parayko, but I got a feeling about Pulock.Spitballing here:

What happened to our depth???
He said a left handed Dman who can play the right side. He said this during the intermission and also on Oilers NowMost likely he means Deangelo.

Provorov then but I’m not sure he meets that description of someone nobody expectsHe said a left handed Dman who can play the right side. He said this during the intermission and also on Oilers Now
The way Bob said it, it sounded like it's someone who plays the side but can play the right. He also said something about them looking for a guy who can move the puck and not on the radar.
To me, that removes all the RHD (Jokiharju, Carlo, Zub, Pulock, Ristolainen and Jiricek)
Watch it be like TJ Brodie at 50% from Chicago.
I wonder what Byram would cost out of Buffalo. He can play both sides and would be an incredible addition to the Oilers.
Brodie hasn’t been good for a while nowI know he's having a rough year but I think TJ Brodie is still a better player than Cody Ceci for sure and he has a good first pass.
Brodie hasn’t been good for a while now
Fair point. They are the easiest to swap out. Short contracts
One if not both of Ryan and Perry won’t be regulars in the lineup come playoff time so I’d have very little concern about that.Just looking at the age of the bottom 6 on this team....
Henrique - 35 (by the end of the regular season)
Janmark - 32 (by the end of the regular season)
Ryan - 38 (by the end of the regular season)
J Skinner - 33 (by the end of the regular season)
Brown - 31 (by the end of the regular season)
Perry - 40 (by the end of the season)
The average age (on lines 3 and 4) for the start of the playoffs will be 35 years old.
Anyone else see this as a potential probelm?
