Pretty much.
What I already expect from now to Friday:
Bottom 6 grit/size and a depth d, maybe a middle 6 if Kane gets traded.

That's it. Easy F grade.

Idk much about Soderblom, but he doesn't seem like a bad backup choice. That being said, I'd be surprised if we even trade for a goalie anymore. Just looks like the organization is only focused on bottom 6 grit, depth d until they know what to do with Kane.
Well if they’re smart (and they’re not) they would keep Kane because they’re way too dumb to get anyone better.
Goaltending is the biggest hole by far.

Guys I think we need to take a step back from the ledge (me mostly). Friedman said we are working with Arvidsson to find him a place to go and no one has any idea on when Kane is back

There aren't a lot of forwards especially that get to this status for me, but Arvidsson is approaching "I can't f***ing watch this guy" anymore territory for me.

Bolded is all I need to highlight and nothing else needs to be said in response haha.

Idk who falls down more. Him or Yamamoto. Zzzzzzzzzzzzzz....

So that’s 3rd pair/4th line depth. When we adding good players?

They won't. Because dollar in dollar out.
It's just gonna be another consecutive trade deadline year where morning comes: media says expecting a quiet oilers trade deadline day, then team acquires another Bjugstad/Carrick type of player and Stecher 2.0, media will say oilers are done, and hours later media will write up the same old narratives from past seasons "well, no capspace, limited assets, and dollar in dollar out.

Then we'll see recent cup winning teams like Avs, VGK and Panthers making actual good moves without the excuses on why they can't get things done.
Rinse and repeat.

Hey,, Cam D was the d man we got from Arizona when we gifted them a 3rd and Kesselring
And Bjugstad aka the same guy who happily went back to Arizona next season lol.
Awful trade.

I’m so f***ing sick of “dollar in dollar out”. Have some foresight, plan ahead and have some flexibility. They do this full time and are supposed to be experts, I just want COMMON SENSE.

That's too hard unless you're Bill Zito or Kelly McCrimmon.

I guess if he’s told JJ he isn’t signing in July, it should be a hell of a trade deadline on Friday.

Team should be able to afford a decent goalie and some decent depth scoring with Connor’s contract moved.

So you trade him if he doesn't sign a new deal this summer? Interesting.

Your suggestion was made to specifically get a reaction. Congrats

Maybe use some logic, do you really think they could keep a request like that quiet? It would 100% leak out. Idiotic bait, I wish I didn’t take it
My reply was solely because I was pissed about the news this morning, like most were. What I didn't expect, was such an emotional response at the mere suggestion that Connor could be half as pissed off at this teams management as we have all been, over the years. Chill, man.

And I do think it would be kept under wraps for a bit. It may start to leak out, like this one apparently is.

Clearly I put

at the end of my post, so consider that as to what I was suggesting.

But if I was being serious, of course you move out a pending FA asset that refuses to sign July 1 before end of the season. To hold and then get zero assets for the player would be Chiarelli/Tambellini level incompetence. Even more so if it’s a superstar.

I’m not even sure why this is being discussed. You win. You trolled and I bit.

I mean, you still have another year to go for a cup and convince him to stay. I just said if he doesn't sign this summer, not that he would refuse overall. I get where your coming from, and it's a gamble for sure. Idk, I agree with you probably, but it'd be tough to make any trade with McDavid.

They did have some foresight. It’s why they let Holloway walk and lots of in season moves. But they wasted it all on Kapanen and Klingberg

Ekholm missed the Leafs game on Feb 1st due to illness... then was going to miss the last game of 4N due to illness but Sweden had multiple other players get sick as well so he played... and he's currently still sick?

Has this guy caught 3 different diseases over the last 5 weeks or does he have long covid?
