Yeah but maybe it’s not just the players. The organization and coaching staff aren’t putting these guys in good situations.

Theres too much over reliance on the big guns.

In an alternative timeline, wouldn’t surprise me to see Henrique put up 15G on Winnipeg or Columbus.

Wouldn’t be surprised to see JSkinner put up 15-20G with Toronto.

Something in the water or something.
I've been thinking about this lately. Guys who have proven offensive talent seem to come here and lose it. I imagine things like only getting the last 20 seconds of a power play every other game on the second unit doesn't help confidence, nor when you're always playing with different linemates because no one can play with McDavid..

Instead of being purposely obtuse, you could address what the poster was really asking: “how you do you know it’s McDavid that asked for the trade”

Way to stir up shit and act like it’s nothing. Lmao
No way did Mc-D ask for a trade. Whoever said that--it's just pure speculation.

Yeah they also don’t get put in situations like open nets etc.

When the team needs a goal and is trailing, minutes get cut etc.

Probably fewer ozone opposites etc

And then the team proceeded to give away a bunch of productive players, including some of the young talent that was critical in helping us get there only to bring in 30+ year olds who can barely get by.

And it took McDavid having an all time playoffs to get there. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.
Followed up the playoffs as one of the NHL's current best teams and cup favorites...all with McDavid himself realizing the team around him is still winning despite him being subpar for his standards

So what is McD whining about exactly according to you?

If I'm McDavid- I'm not signing an extension. This team and organization aren't serious about winning. Oilers scream 1st round exit. The front office is a joke compared to other teams. What upsets me the most is we have the 2 best players in the planet...and we still can't build a team around them

lol.

If Connor demanded a trade while the team was in first place in the division, despite him having a pedestrian season by his standards, coming off a game 7 finals loss, then he can get leave.

Everyone around here is forgetting that this season was going very well until the last small stretch, and a huge reason that the team is in that stretch is because McDavid himself is slumping. Things are not nearly as bad as they seem.
100%

IF this is the case, and i dont believe it is for one second, I dont think McDavid would do this, But if it was the case 100% Drai dug in and is putting together agreat season while McDavid hasn't looked the same since November 2023. So if he did demand a trade, f*** him. Again, i dont believe it though

If anyone did demand a trade its probably Jeff Skinner or Kane. Skinners been f***ed around with here and its clear Knob doesn't like him, Kane seems to have an issue with how the Oilers are playing his medical issues, so on top of all that, it makes most sense to me that it was Kane, which honestly, he can go as far im concerned, him being at the inauguration left a sour taste in my mouth regarding him personally.

Krieder has been on the block all year :sarcasm:

I wish of course, it's probably going to be some bottom sixer along the lines of what we've been hearing for a couple of weeks now.
Kreider is Teddy "Tugboat" Purcell with speed. He's not the size they need

Friedman: Full no move clauses for both Arvidsson and Henrique.
Kane wants to prove he can play, to be valuable, to compete for the Stanley cup. Not sure what the doctors have said, no exact details. Disagreements between both the team and Kane on the timeline for when he plays. Teams looking around for all of their options to open room for capspace.

Bob: Even if the Oilers want to pull a VGK LTIR, Kane would have to be okay with it also.
Extra cap space/Dollar in-Dollar out has to do with Kane.
