I think JP was consensus #1 a good year/ year and a half before his draft year? Or at least a 1/2 with Matthews

I couldn't stand the guy, No hockey IQ, Pure athlete, Idiot off the ice

I do believe the Oilers thought they were drafting Matthew Tkachuk. They told him so the night before the draft, until the Finish manager in CBJ pulled a fast one and didn't draft JP
I don’t recall his stock positioning, I just remember it being Matthews/Laine all season and Tkachuk being in the top 5. I suppose it’d still be easy to find Mackenzie’s draft rankings on the googlin’ machine for that year lol.

According to everything everywhere, he does not have any trade protection.

You don't have to make shit up to stir the pot further.
Why do you have to be like this to people on the board. Stop acting like an old angry drunk. Arvy does a NMC and maybe you need to stop calling me out. When I post stuff it's correct.

Why do I find in sufferable when Nucks fans, who never show up for the games, incessantly post about nonsense trying to stir things up and cause general discord? I mean the obvious reason.

At the time, not really. Henrique was a pretty well regarded top 6 forward/2nd line center with a decent rep for scoring 20 goals/50 points with consistency.

In hindsight it looks like an overpay, but that's mostly because he's been pigeonholed as a 3rd/4th line defensive center by a coach who has been a drag on the roster this year with biased lineup choices.
No, not in hindsight- at the time it was an overpay. Better players moved and the Oilers were the only team to give up a 1st

I mentioned this last year. The Oilers had to give up a first because they were "holding" Rico while they tried to get the Buchnevich deal done. When they couldn't they had to circle back to Henrique.
Not according to Seravalli. He said the Oilers had the deal in place for Henrique a month before the deadline. For whatever reason, the Oilers waited. They just executed it on deadline day. Seravalli questioned the logic of giving up a first when you aren't beating the market. He also questioned not executing it a month earlier to test run Henrique to see what other gaps the team had. Oilers had the cap to do it. You can probably go back and listen to Bob's show when Servalli was on it just after deadline day

Again stop it with that false narrative. Plenty of teams traded their 1st last year, and for worse players. Come on man, be better. It's one thing to complain about the management and their trading history, there are plenty to complain about, but don't make up fake information to fit your narrative.

Colorado paid a 1st for Sean freaking Walker. come on. it's not hard to check on this.

I know this thread is the 'Rumors' thread, but geez, people are just making things up and posting as it's real now. Guess that is the way the world is heading, be loud and say things loudly and strongly, and keep repeating itself, whether it's true or not, doesn't matter. Sounds like someone's MO? lol

The Henrique trade wasn't even all that bad last year. He played well when not hurt, and provided a good defensive side in the playoffs. Important part of the long run for the team.
Now the bad may be signing the extension this year and keeping him in the 3/4 C role all year. Stubborn Knob really should switch RNH with Rico on the left side of McDavid's line. Let RNH play the 3rd line center till he finds his speed if ever again. Rico can provide the defensive coverage for McDavid, and he played well with him last season before he got hurt.

Yakupov had his issues, he was also emotionally abused by an idiot coach for an entire year. He might never have been great, but the Oilers aren't blameless there. You also don't have to apologize for them.

Why don't you listen to Dubnyk about Yaks practice habits. Or Burke. Or teamates on him practicing cells.

Don't apologize for the selfish and moronic players just to trash the org is more like it

Sure, I know Dubnyk had to stare the end of his career in the face to figure things out.

And Yakupov had major problems, but Dallas Eakins f***ing with him like an utter dipshit for an entire season didn't f***ing help.

I'm not apologizing for the players, the organization that still employs Dusting f***ing Schwartz doesn't get a f***ing pass.

John Gibson's 31 years old. Why the f*** should that a problem?
Bobrovsky won the cup as a 35 year old.
He's also only 3 years older than Blackwood. What kind of difference are you talking about?
Not ro mention Roloson probably played his best hockey of his career in those 06 playoffs and I beleive he was 36 at the time I'm sure everyone remembers that

Because that other guy, the Nucks fan, only post things he hears on twitter as his insider information because he's Nucks fans.

JJ should be fired with Stan.
