I can't tell you the Pts/60 of the players when they are together versus split up, but I can tell you the 5v5 on ice GF/60

Drai + Arvi w/o McDavid= 2.21 GF/60
McDavid w/o Arvi or Drai= 2.47 GF/60
Drai w/o Arvi or McDavid= 2.86 GF/60
Arvi w/o Drai or McDavid= 3.00 GF/60
McDavid + Drai w/o Arvi= 4.59 GF/60

This is a fair take and I'll say as a player he's never been super reliant on PP points other than 22/23 with LA, but we are still giving him far less PP time than he is used to (he has 2 PP pts with us)

It is fair to say he is underperforming based on career history & fair to say he is underperforming relative to the linemates he's been given an opportunity to play with, but I'll say we have 3 talented centers the chemistry hasn't been there with Drai and Connor is not playing well with anyone this season other than Drai, Hyman, & Bouchard; even on Team Canada Connor was a pain in the ass to find linemates that meshed with him. RNH and Arvi have been working as a duo and should get more runway to see if there is something there.

My issue with the bitching is the hysterics in saying that the Arvi signing was so bad that we should fire management cause of it or we should bundle him with a 2nd round pick just to be rid of the contract, those are insane takes for someone who very much fits the curve and is slightly on the higher end of what $4M forwards produce in points.

The general sentiment should be somewhere between ho-hum to a minor mistake, not this is a disastrous signing, this is nowhere close to be the equivalent of signing Jack Campbell or giving Nurse his bloated contract.
The Arvidsson signing seemed good at the time but he is a shell of a player and is a very unproductive player.

The issue with all these moves is what they sacrificed to make them and how every, single, one, has back fired. The only move either of our GMs made this summer that hasn’t been laughable in retrospect is Ceci for Emberson.

This board was celebrating the moves early in the off season but it’s wild that none of them have worked out

Foegele almost had the same ppg in the playoffs as Arvidsson does in the regular season.
I’d put good money on Foegele having more points in the first round than Arvidsson would have in 3

Arvidsson used to be good. He isn’t anymore.
Foegs was a dud in the playoffs… full stop. He was nothing all playoffs and only showed up for like 2 games when the entire team did and pumped Florida.

I’ll take that bet. Easy.

Argument 2 is such bs. I mean what if skinner gets hurt… exact same thing. Do they think maybe since he has zero lateral movement or explosiveness that it reduces his risk of injury? Actually, maybe that’s a legit point. Can’t pull a groin if you can’t push hard in the first place 🤣🤣

What has Bowman done here? Didn’t Holloway slip away under his watch? Skinner and RV haven’t been good sure, but Bowman didn’t bring them in. He got some guys off waivers and Klingberg.

He has a week and he better f***ing do something.

Ultimately if he’s forcing his way back in the lineup, that’s his decision. You can’t pressure him too much not to otherwise you end up with a Trouba situation in NY. And while the Rangers will eventually recover from the strongarm fiasco because of their location, the Oilers do not have that luxury. All the progress made over the last 8 years in making this a desirable destination for players, it all goes down the drain.

His teammates though, they should definitely be telling him to sit out.
Difference is Trouba seems to be well likes while Kane has destroyed all his relationships and isn’t well liked by his teammates wherever he has been

That's not all all what he said. "In theory it's fun to think about it. In practicality probably not as applicable."
That direct quote followed an extensive description of why it's unlikely, beginning with the Oilers not having alot of assets; would lose LTIR space; would worsen the asset pool they have to work with.
The poster your replying tends to hear what no one else does

Foegele can help LA tank in the playoffs. He was so unreliable defensively at 5x5 that he rode the bench every game in the third during the playoffs when the score was close. He also caused the chain reaction of bad events for both goals in game 7 against Florida.

Prepare to be disappointed tbh. Will just be a minor depth add or two. Usually I take trade deadline off but that's pointless with Bowman as GM. Quote this post if I'm wrong and laugh.

I’m not calling Foegele a great player. I’m just saying he is better than Arvidsson. Which isn’t a high bar.
Arvidsson had a xGA of 2.97/60 last playoffs for LA, 2nd worst on his team. Foegele had a 2.47 which was middle of the pack for us.

Arvidsson, sucks.

That said it shouldn’t be Foegele vs Arvidsson. Arvidsson needs to be traded for future consideration and we need to replace him with almost anyone lol.

Yeah, Arvidsson's fit has been dreadful for this team. I assume he'll be move as part of deal for another player, because despite his poor season, he's got a low "enough" cap hit, short enough contract where you don't have to desperately add to move him.

Like if the Oilers aim for a more "expensive" forward, I suspect Arvidsson goes the other way to balance the cap.

I'm really surprised, I honestly thought Arvidsson would be a good fit for this team, but he just has absolutely not fit at all.

They won’t move him. Coach likes him and will keep shoving him where he doesn’t fit I think.
That and there is the whole “you can’t trade a guy you just signed” thing that GMs and media says.

Kane needs to just take one for the team here and sit out till the playoffs. This isn’t a hard concept.

Kane has not been known for being smart though, and HAS been known to kind of be a pain in the ass to management at pretty much every team he's ever been on. He seems like a pretty decent guy personally, and does lots for charity and whatnot, and he's a good player when he's on, so this isn't an attack on him at all. But it is 110% his MO to not play ball.

Maybe, but he has no trade protection and he really hasn't done much, and adding an expensive player with need cap out, he seems like the odd man myself.

They can't be afraid of that, or they'll just hold themselves back

I've never seen you on here? Who are you?

Why are you here?
I'm just basing it on bowman's TDL history and the fact that he's told the media multiple times they aren't trading for a goalie. I just think it's gonna be disappointing.

I can vouch for him and say I've seen him on here lots. True Oilers fan fr.
Thanks bro I'm not trying to troll with that post I'm just saying Bowmans trade deadlines have been underwhelming historically so I'm just prepared to he disappointed but hope to be wrong.

Heard some weird things from people on the team about the playoffs and when Kane would choose to take his shots to be able to play (we all know they shoot up to go through the playoff grind). And when he would choose these shots didn't lend a lot of his teammates to be super enamoured with him and "allegedly" some guys might have called him out on it. So if this is a final F U to the team by Kane I wouldn't be horribly shocked. Just terribly disappointed.
