For all the bitching about Arvidsson I was curious how he was performing compared to the other $4M forwards in pts per game.

1. Patrick Kane= 0.71 Pts/GP
2. Nino Niederreiter= 0.48 Pts/GP
3. Viktor Arvidsson= 0.43 Pts/GP
4. Dawson Mercer= 0.42 Pts/GP (1st RFA contract)
5. Marcus Foligno= 0.37 Pts/GP
6. Robby Fabbri= 0.37 Pts/GP
7. Ryan Hartman= 0.35 Pts/GP
8. Alex Iafallo= 0.33 Pts/GP
9. David Perron= 0.2 Pts/GP

So the only one who is way outperforming his contract is P. Kane who is an obvious HOFer and signed a sweetheart deal with Detroit. I think this fanbase has an inflated sense of what $4M gets you these days cause of the prior performances of our $5M-ish guys, who way outperformed their contracts (atleast initially).
The bolded bring a big body or at least physical presence as well. None of them have been stapled to a Hart candidate for much of the season either.

Interesting
I used to love RV in Nashville
Not great here but I still have some time for him because of his effort.

Still not seeing why others pine for JSkins even though he's potted a few useless goals. I do like his effort at times but think he's done.

Because Skinner can create offense on his own and is a finisher. Neither are anything special this season but one has scored from the bottom 6 while the other has seemingly gotten worse as the season moves along.

Don't disagree but the amount of offense he's generated is not enough. And he looks so... off

Do agree his usage is an issue and he's been a great soldier

Anyone actually thinking Bowman is grabbing a starting goalie is out to lunch.

His history of deadline deals
2011: Added Frolik, Salak, Campoli
3rd liner, toss in and a 7th d
2012: Oduya. Ended up being a solid middle pair guy.
2013: Henrique Karlsson (AHL), Handzus(4th liner)
2014: Rundblad, Brisebois both pretty much nothint
2015: Timonen (7th d) Vermette (3rd liner), Desjardins (4th liner)
2016: Panik, Sekac, Ladd, Matt Fraser, Jay Harrison. So a 3rd liner, nothing, 2nd liner, and more nothing
2017: Jurco, Oduya again

And then after that they weren’t really a playoff team anymore. So in his entire history the best he did was Ladd and Oduya. He has never successfully addressed things midseason. He was king of minor tweaks in their cup years and that’s it. Having big roster flaws is something he has been awful at addressing during the season. Ladd was good for the remaining regular season but had a bad playoffs. So really. Oduya was the best thing they have done.

Bowman has never been a big splash guy so zero reason to expect it.

Might as well complain to the source. This incompetence in management is Chiarelli level. These 2 clowns thought Podkolzin and Arvidsson on Drais wing was the answer.

Absolute stupidity right before your eyes.

Arvidsson has performed better away from Draisaitl than with him, it's coaching incompetence to have tried forcing it for so long.

He has generated the third most offence on the roster (points per 60 5v5) while being bounced between press box and second liner, and mostly 4th line and has the 6th most xGF while playing again, on the 4th line with black holes. 🕳️

Still a massive disappointment no matter how you slice it. Arvidsson has been like a 60 something point guy his entire career up to this year.

Okay and which one of those forwards is mostly playing with the best 5v5 player in the league who is rocking a 2.8 pts/60. Having a .043 Pts/gm when your main linemate has a 2.8 is absolutely putrid.

Which major moves were required of the Blackhawks at the time to win exactly? Those teams didn't need major deadline addition home runs, so I don't know why we're chastising him for not making them.

Cleaning up the details was all those teams needed, and the players I bolded above were all impactful in their roles after being acquired by Chicago. If anything this shows he's good at identifying what he needs in depth additions even if they are not sexy.

Fair, but it also shows that he has never really been able to pull off a trade to fix issues. There has been tons of years where they had things to fix and he just passed it to the next season.

Skinner had the 2 best chances on the pp yesterday..in a quarter of the pp time our top unit had.

He's definitely been dicked aroud all year by knob.

He deserves RNH spot

If we don't have cap space to trade for a goalie, then we have to include Skinner in the deal. It's not like he will develop any better here with Mr. Eternal Job Security Schwartz
This. I'm sick of hearing there is no one out there that is an improvement on Skinner. You can literally throw a dart and find one. Argument #2-losing Skinner is a big risk-what if the new goalie gets hurt- then you don't have a Skinner to rely on...you sure do- his name is Pickard and there is no drop off

I think its fair to say that Arvidsson is underperforming based on his history.

In his 590 NHL games he has been a 0.65 ppg player.
If you go to his time in LA immediatley prior to being traded to Edmonton (161 games) Arvidsson was a 0.76 ppg player. The LA numbers are being propped up with PP time though.
If you take out his 3 years in LA (where the PP pumped up his ppg) then his ppg is at 0.60.

In terms of Arvidssons career numbers his current 0.43 ppg is a 33% drop. In terms of his career minus the LA years then its a 29% drop.

Not sure what his PP TOI is in Edmonton compared to his career so pure 5x5 numbers might be more revealing but there does appear to be some merit to suggesting that Arvidsson is underperforming with Edmonton.

People called me crazy when I wanted to dump Kane to keep Foegele last season.

We need to overhaul this season. Get rid of all the dead wieght.

Free up cap space and go all in next year. This year is a wash for me. These guys will not win the cup.

Colorado just got Nichushkin back, they have Necas, Makar, Mackinnon, Toews. We would be cannon fodder for them. Winnipeg swept us 3 years ago and likely will take us out in 5 if we meet again.

There is no way in gods name we will beat Florida in a 7 game series.

Fresh start. Start with firing the 2 clowns who dismantled a championship roster.

We won’t have the cap next year to go all in. This is pretty much our last legit year. After this year it’s luck. Our 1/2 player prospect pool guarantees that. This org is in post cup status without the cup.

Getting rid of the dead weight is our entire bottom 6, and Nuge and Arvidsson and both goalies.

I get what you’re suggesting, but which of those players in that list has been playing beside the league’s leading goal scorer and a former (and candidate for another) Hart Trophy winner, this year?

I mean other than Kane being a one time elite talent (who’s on the back 9 of his career) the rest of the plugs on that list aren’t really anything to write home about, production-wise this season.

That said, I’d like to see what the production of a Neiderrieter, Mercer or even Fabbri would be playing alongside Drai. It’s not unreasonable to think their points per game would be considerably higher than what they are currently showing.

Arviddson has been a colossal bust this season.
