I heard that Marner and Gibson were going to be his roommates for a while.Heard from an unnamed source Taylor Hall was spotted house hunting in Edmonton, cannot confirm nor deny

Marner wants 14 million, he can take a hike.Hyman - McDavid - Marner
Podkolzin - Draisaitl - Henrique
Frederic - Nuge - Savoie
All I want is for the Toronto media to leak some bs after that the Leafs offered a similar contract, but Marner choose to go elsewhere.Marner wants 14 million, he can take a hike.
“Leafs offered Marner 13 million, but he wanted to win so he took 9.5 million in Edmonton which Toronto helped Edmonton clear by taking Darnell Nurse for free. “All I want is for the Toronto media to leak some bs after that the Leafs offered a similar contract, but Marner choose to go elsewhere.
Really get things going in TO
For puck pressure, retrievals and defensive acumen. He's also got a nice touch on his passes. You consistently undervalue the players you don't like.Brown beat goalies 3X. Two of his goals were ENG. Tabulations should separate those out. Not the same.
Brown has a total 15Goals here where he beat goalies in 155 regular season games (two full seasons) played here. he ain't been much. He's an ENG legend though.
Brown also is regularly elevated to play with McD. Not for skill or results reasons.
I would of said the same thing about Trouba or Seth Jones and then both of them got moved and both of those occurred before a huge hike in the salary cap.
He’s not getting anywhere near 16I really hope not. Marner at 16 might be a disaster
What? That’s not Brown at all. His puck pressure consists of skating as fast as he can all over the ice with his stick in the air. He doesn’t hit or engage other than skate fast. He does not interrupt zone exits. He’s got 8 career playoff goals- of which 5 came this year. He isnt going to out preform his contract. You can easily find these types of playersFor puck pressure, retrievals and defensive acumen. He's also got a nice touch on his passes. You consistently undervalue the players you don't like.
At $2.5m, he's a guy that's going to consistently outperform his contract. If he wants over $3m, we move on.
he might if he signs a new contract in two yearsHe’s not getting anywhere near 16
I am confident putting Philp or O’Reilly on the wing does more than Brown at a lower price. What? That’s not Brown at all. Gee if only actual production meant anything. Brown is a number one option to blow 20 scoring chances in a row. One of the worst options to put with the most talented player in hockey. really all of should be fedup by now having clear bottomsix players in topsix in 2025. You know I'm right on that. For puck pressure, retrievals and defensive acumen. He's also got a nice touch on his passes. You consistently undervalue the players you don't like.

What's everyones thoughts on Perry saying he wants to win for his son but then may leave over 1 million.
That is probably around 1.5 ish percent of his net worth.....
Is he just negotiating? Will he leave? Sounds like we are not budging
I haven't seen much of Savoie last season.
Does anyone have a grasp of his situation? Is it likely that he will join the roster? Where would he slot in?
He's a smaller guy and I always had the impression that Knob doesn't like small players (Skinner, Arvidsson, Stecher etc), so I don't know if Knob would use him the way his game requires him to do.
You basically have to hope that he will build great chemistry with Draisaitl on that 2nd line, no? You shape Savoie in a way where it becomes his main task to be Draisaitl's sidekick, maybe some sort of a Guentzel or Marner light (without the superstar numbers, but with a similar game)? You maybe force them onto the same line for straight 82 games next season to build that chemistry and tell Draisaitl something along the lines of: this dude could be your line partner for the next 8 years, you could be a great duo and win cups, so teach him what to do, he brings the qualities.
Because I believe that his skill would be absolutely wasted in the bottom 6.
Then we sign Kap or Kostin. It would be a shame to lose his presence in the room but we can definitively say it didn’t put us over the top so don’t overpay for what he will bring as a 40 year old fourth liner.

He's not a great option to put with McDavid. You're absolutely right. Because he's a fourth liner that moonlights in a third line role. But he's been put there for periods because the team has lacked viable options due to injury or underperforming top six players.Gee if only actual production meant anything. Defensive acumen. Brown had the worst pk GA on the team this year.
Brown also had 1 hit/60mins this season. Meaning he's also that guy with zero intangibles. If smart means avoiding any and all contact at any means then yeah.
But today I heard somebody talking about "Playoff Brown" The mythmaking legend never stops. This guy must have his own cheering sections at Rogers Place.![]()
Brown really isn't anything worth keeping, and especially as a bottomsix player at his cost. Even Kapanen was far more impactful, better on pk. Also McLeod was better on pk. Ooopppps. He's not a great option to put with McDavid. You're absolutely right. Because he's a fourth liner that moonlights in a third line role. But he's been put there for periods because the team has lacked viable options due to injury or underperforming top six players.
The 'legend' was warranted. He and Mattias Janmark had tremendous playoff runs a year ago and were part of an absolutely lights out PK unit. I'm sure you're aware that they aren't the lights out PKers the same way they aren't the absolute sieves you're casting them as after this playoff run. The real answer is somewhere in the middle.
Brown isn't a physical forward. He's not a guy likely to pot 20 in a season. But he's a guy who has the potential to fill various roles when required without sinking the team when he's out there. 28 points at even strength is a value bottom six option and no, it isn't easily replaceable. Look at the Oilers' bottom six historically. People suggesting Philp or O'Reilly replace that contribution are absolutely dreaming. Look at Holloway’s production there a year ago. Or even Kapanen's regular season.
Time to be realistic about what's to be expected from the bottom six on an Edmonton Oilers team. And it's time acknowledge what happens to the team when that part of it cannot hold its own weight.
Puck pressure does consist of being fast. It forces opposing puck carriers to make split second decisions that aren't necessarily the right one. What? That’s not Brown at all. I’m cool with him as long as it’s a fully buriable cap hit. Finding a diamond in the rough is necessary for this team to succeed. It’s like the Hutson and Euro signings. If you get five spins of the wheel with no risk you get a reasonable chance your number hits.Imo a big part of his issue is he doesn't play in systems well. Basically the same as Zach Kassian.
He's a bull in a china shop that needs to run around to be effective. The second you try to move him up the lineup and get him to play with structure, he ends up neutering himself.
Toss him out there with Philp and Janmark or Podz and Henrique, and he'll be fine.
