Yes speedy wingers would have helped I just meant as the team was constructed at the time I’m not sure how we could have adjusted. Maybe moving up ice as a five man unit with short quick passes would have been a bit better.
I think a lot of what pained us is we couldn't stop the soft touch passes that we like to make that normally aren't a major problem against teams other than the Panthers. Throwing a soft one around created a race for them to win and they're good at those.
In Game 6 the second goal against started with a soft backwards pass by Nuge in the neutral zone (off a won battle at that), which lead to them in our end for a minute. Then we get it out, Bouchard turns it over at their blue line with another soft little touch pass, comes the other way, in our net.
Then the third goal - Kulak has time to clear it, goes with another soft little breakout pass, they pick it off, they come back in, they cycle, series over. Both goals cases where they probably don't happen if we just make a firm play with the puck.
Old habits die hard, and these terrible passes just couldn't leave our game no mater how critical it was to not do it.
