Why would Holloway regret it? It's reported the Oilers offered Holloway a 3 year deal at $1.05 AAV while stacking his growth path with old, more expensive adds. So longer term, less money, not a priority at contact time, gets more money on a shorter-term deal, and kills it with the opportunity. Now has fired his inexperienced agent who turned to Broberg's agent for help with non-negotiation by the Oilers and new super agent is teed up to get him big bank and term.
I don't think he regrets signing it, but I think he did expect Edmonton to match.

Maybe. His eyes were wide open with the process. Ultimately no reason to regret his decision with all goals accomplished.
For sure, he's ahead in terms of earnings potential where he is.

I'm sure he was watching the finals thinking how he could have been a contributor, however. He's young though, so he'll likely gets his chances at winning either way.

The biggest missed PP opportunity they had was likely in period 1 of game 2, when they had a chance to go up 4-2.. but they came out with another lifeless powerplay. That felt like a series shifting moment to me.
That for me as well. I think it was even a 5-3 PP, and they didn't do anything with it and gave the Panthers momentum. If they were able to get a 2 goal lead, the game could've been vastly different. Who knows they could've even got a 3 goal lead. Panthers aren't a very good play from behind team.

The game might not even need another miracle come from behind effort by the Oilers to tie the game and go into double overtime only to lose. That has to be draining for the team.
Going up 2-0 in the series, everything would be different, doubt would've started to creep into the Panthers' head.
The cup was basically lost with that momentum shifting powerplay.

Just to reiterate about the Oilers "depth issues" in this years playoffs for the Oilers. Only 6 players had a 50% or lower GF% in the playoffs.

Mcdavid, Draisaitl and Perry were caved in finals. Skinner isnt coming back.

So yeah I can see why fans aren't happy with brown (injury) and Nurse (overpaid).

Because he got to watch his buddies go to the finals in a spot where he could clearly have helped while he sat at home hurt and missing the short playoffs the Blues had.

He got a bit more money than the Oilers offered, but after another strong season and cup run, he's probably getting even more paid. Again, it's why he has a new agent, he was "told" (probably) that the Oilers would match, they didn't and he ended up in STL. He had a great year personally, but it amounted to nothing and he's not getting more next year because of that strong season.

Arguing like you're fox inferring a bunch of crap that wasn't even in his post and excluding the fact that what he said about the ex is true. Half the shit people were using against him was from claims from the nutball who was later found out to be a total nutball.

I see you willfully ignored the part about Hart being condemned before even being found guilty. Or the fact the witness story has more holes than Skinner

Also, if you think Kanes history of being a pos is limited to just gambling and his one ex....you clearly haven't been paying attention.

You just did it again lol. I didn't even mention hart because I was only addressing your comments on Kane lol.

A prospective trend I'm watching is modern era young players being more pro-active in managing their careers prioritizing opportunity and lifestyle. More impatient to assert their options to choose their future. Imagine there is some regret but he pivoted to better situation for him and a key part of a reset vs retool around a younger core. Unfortunately with how badly last summer's money was spent Holloway could have helped this team. But with no negotiation the market reset his value and rolled out the opportunity to play and succeed.

8M till he's 37 and when the cap is 130M+.

There are several problems. the big one being ..When do the oilers announce the Bouchard and McDavid signings? And how much will each be signing for? Oilers have just a short and Curley under 12 mill in cap space left. We are not at 130 yet

$95.5 million in 2025-26, $104 million in 2026-27, and $113.5 million in 2027-28.6 Therefore, the $130 million cap limit is not currently projected.

Barring any Covid type event or disaster, the cap is likely to project to 130M+ in 5 years. That's when JT Miller deal is up. That's about 6% of the cap. That's nothing to sweat about
