I think the more interesting question is how unlikely that Savoie is anywhere near the NHL player that McLeod is. It would be very unlikely for him for instance to match Mcleod in career pts or intangibles.

Its crazy to me that NHL clubs would spend a good first pick on players this small but thats the way the league had been operating for years. That said Yams was way smaller, 153lbs when we fist got him. Its crazy that he's listed as 178lbs now, maybe put on some muscle to try to stick in league. Really he's a complete bust by now. Was a poor pick when we threw away a first on him.
Yeah too bad McLeod got traded. He had some short comings but he did well in Buffalo last season.

It's been awhile since I've read about the incident. Why would he be an awful human being if he's innocent? Because he didn't report what allegedly happened? Just wondering.

Lets not go down this route lol.

Regardless, clearly, if proven innocent the Oilers have shown time and time again that they dont GAF if the guys a good person or not. So to be completely real, Hart is very much an option rather the fanbase will like it or not.

Just when @Drivesaitl has gotten over Mcleod, Holloway and Broberg. You guys just had to get him relapse on this trauma haha

Why are fans complaining Gibson, Allen, Demko, Hofer, etc.? We have garbage in net but cant risk going after someone else? I don't get it.

I can't see that happening. Kane and Perry situations are nothing like hart. They both had addiction issues and Kane's ex wife is batshit crazy.

Bowman had the blessing from beach himself and its more Chevy and coach q that were responsible.

Hart, even if he is innocent, is clearly an awful human being. It would contrast all the community stuff Edmonton is trying to be known for. It won't be happening.

What would be the justification? "well technically he was found not guilty of rape".

This is cringe post.

Condemning someone before even knowing their guilt....meanwhile absolving someone like Kane by blaming it all on the ex.

I have no probs having Kane on the roster but the guy gambled and cheated all his money away while he had a family to support.

Talk about some backwards logic you got

This is a huge bluff. If you offer 4.6 million or whatever costs a 2nd round pick, do it. It will screw them over when the time comes.

But only if this guy is legit... I know nothing about him.
Andy is usually spot on, especially with St. Louis based players (current or former blues, or just guys from the area).

I remember he was the first to say Pronger wanted out and we all called BS

I'd move Skinner for Demko and add another goalie just in case. Demko when healthy is the best of that bunch.
But you have to wonder, if he were healthy, would the Canucks really be looking to trade him? His career was hanging by a thread after the 2024 playoffs and he still doesn't appear to be totally out of the woods. That said, there have been reports that he wants out of Vancouver, so maybe his being available is partially due to a trade request. I would proceed with great caution toward a Demko trade.

That's so Edmonton. Instead of making a good move act on "history books" "emotion" etc.
We can't win. We lose Broberg and Holloway for scraps and Florida picks up Jones and Marchand for their second straight cup win.

It doesn't matter if we had a Vezina trophy winner in net the last two playoff runs, the Panthers outclassed the Oilers by a huge margin.

They had us at every position. Improving one position, even dramatically, wouldn't make a difference. They toyed with us like a cat plays with a mouse. Anyone that says differently is flat out lying. You can see the professional bullshit artists on this site as clear as day.

If Florida isn't back at it next season another Bettman team will be, fully endorsed by the board of governors. The Oilers are f***ed. Just like every other Canadian team for the past 32 seasons.

I wouldn't blame McDavid one bit for wanting out if indeed a championship is his number one priority. Sorry Toronto, that won't be you, it should be one of the teams in Florida or perhaps Dallas looking to secure a deal with the Oilers. No matter the return the Oilers will not win a Stanley Cup with Bettman at the helm and his revenue sharing scheme.

They maybe tired of him and his injury issues and vice versa he might be tired of Vancouver. If we add him just make sure that we have a solid #3 that can be a #2 just in case.

Regardless of who we acquire in net, I think Skinner needs to stay. We won't be getting sure-fire #1 guy
He needs to go. Pickard can stay as the #3. The Skinner experiment needs to end to make sure that Schwartz doesn't keep going back to him when he clearly shouldn't. IF we keep Stu there better be a new #1 AND a new goalie coach.

Demko and Gibson with Pickard being the #3 makes sense.

Just got to get double retention on Demko and Gibson

I've been suggesting pickard back as a #3 for a while. Hes been a great story but I think you can find a way to sneak him back down.

Skinner can be moved out in a trade. Gibson seems like the most realistic option with Anaheim being able to retain.

Then we round out the goaltending without giving up assets in free agency for a goaltender like Allen, Samsanov, Vladar or Lyon as the backup.

It's a different series if the refs call the obvious to many men penalty in game 2 OT, or if they call the countless interference penalties that Bennet got away with or the countless high sticks that Florida got away with. The team was playing scared after game 2 because they knew they weren't going to get away with anything while Florida practically had free reign. How many goals did Florida score right after the refs missed an obvious call? Even game 6, if the refs call the high sticking penalty on Podz in the 1st period then maybe we score on the PP and the Reinhart goal doesn't happen.

Jake Allen is an UFA? I didn't know that. I agree with you there. Gibson-Allen-Pickard would be an ideal trio.

Will be shocked if the Oil chucked their cap space and assets for a promising, though big game unproven goalie. The acquisition cost is 2 second round picks plus a sweetener to get their own second back then double Skinner money to tempt winning an offer sheet.

EDIT: Sorry one 2nd round pick plus sweetener. No one is doing Edmonton any favours.
