Marner is 100% gone, they don't need the cap space. Treliving has been talking a lot about "skilled toughness" though so I wonder if we can extract a 2nd from them for Evander Kane. Heck, seeing some of Treliving's past trades, I wouldn't put it past him to hand over Easton Cowan lol.

Not sure if it means anything, but I belong to a Wine social club in Toronto, where we have a locker to store our wine/liquor to drink. Morgan Reilly has been a member of the club for many years, and I've seen him there a few times. Nice guy socially btw.

Is the sweetener something with value? Kane will go for a Marchment level return, Nurse ha negative value. Nurse and Kane + sweetener would get you Knies, not both.

With all due respect it's pretty naive to think that top players, especially elite franchise players, don't get consulted on team direction in all sports really.

I am being somewhat facetious. Consulting on team direction certainly.

But seriously, who the goaltender is going to be? On who the 6th D is going to be? Who should be the starting goalie on a given night? Coach, GM, President. The list is getting rather long I would say. Given he had a rather poor Final performance by his own admission I would think that at some point you let the GM do his job and not try to micromanage the team you play for. Its getting a bit ridiculous IMO.

So not like that, just one of mutuals had mentioned they had heard that the ask was Nuge (I don't know if that's now or at the deadline) and I believe it was Gazola, but I can't say for sure.

I don't trust Gazzola anymore ever since he said the Oilers wouldn't be going for a Dman at the deadline. Plus, Verbeek wants Gibson gone. Why would he ask for something stupid?
