Well we’re not giving up the assets you are proposing just because he’s attainable. That’s just ridiculous,
NJD have Nico Daws and could resign Jake Allen or take Skinner back in a deal for Markstrom.
Jet Greaves is an internal option for CBJ too.

New Jersey isn't trading Markstrom when they are a win now team. Binnington isn't getting traded. Blues will match anything given to hofer. Montreal isnt trading Montembault

No, John Gibson is not literally it and not if it costs O'Reilly. He is arguably the worst goalie in the NHL for the past half decade and definitely the worst full time starter during that period. There are guys like Jake Allen available in free agency who while also inconsistent, is not John Gibson levels of bad. There are also always goalies available for cheap like Lankinens and Stolarz last offseason, you just need better pro scouting to find them and someone besides Dustin Schwartz as the coach.
I'm in favour of us getting a goalie and I think most Oiler fans are. But y'all need to stop clamouring over the absolute dog shit player that is John Gibson.

Carolina doesn’t need Skinner…maybe Philly test drives him for a year, they’re looking for goalies and he’s young enough to be part of their future.

I'd entertain offer sheeting $4.68M to Joel Hofer from the Blues. If the Blues match. It fukks with them. If they don't, we can fit him and he's an upgrade. We'd be giving up a 3rd rounder.

why would he leave Colorado who can pay him? Edmonton doesn't have the money to pay him significant money
He will UFA when the cap is 113M. In 2 years Colorado could be on the downswing

Just remember: Linus Ullmark went to Ottawa for Joonas Korpisalo, Mark Kastelic (2019 5th rounder) and the Sens 2024 1st round pick.
Ullmark was a Vézina winner in 2023 and was traded a year later.
If Anaheim is retaining on Gibson, this might drive the price up a bit, but all things considered, Ullmark went for a song.

Just remember how good Ullmark was in the 3 years prior to getting traded. His value was much higher than Gibson. Plus, Anaheim is desperate to trade him for cap space
