They got lucky a couple times with Hellebuyck and Connor then flew a little too close to the sun.Never draft an American
yes it bad, but no we don't.The oilers defence is in a desperate situation and that’s perfectly healthy with all hands on deck.
Oilers need a big trade now.
His passing is also a bit overrated. He is very good in the offensive zone but his game in every other zone strugglesI don't know, he can't skate at this level anymore. Sure he is smart with the puck, probably one of the best puck mover we have had but he was slow a couple of years ago.
That's a mistake. Nurse has no good first pass. He always ices it. We need a puckmover with him. This is why trading Broberg was a mistake. He could get to the puck on time in the D zone and he could rush it out with no mistake (in my opinion lol)I'd prefer a defensive dman with Nurse

It's too bad the Oilers couldn't trade their 2020 14th pick for Yager2023 14th overall pick for 2022 14th overall pick.
Yes we actually can rely on drafting. We have a different drafting team with ParkettiGonna have to take flyers on players like Boqvist, Valimaki, Kostin, Podkolzine ... players like that when they pop up on the market for peanuts.
Our own internal drafting at this point likely isn't going to yield much for the forseeable window, our next 1st is 2026, that player probably won't be ready to significantly contribute until 2029 at the earliest, that pick is probably a goner at this year's deadline anyway.
Can't rely on drafting anymore, the Oilers had a window to do that in (2015-2023) and they largely blew it, even if they hit pay dirt on a fluke pick in the 3rd/4th round at this point, again you're probably waiting until 2029 or 2030 for such a player to really be a big contributor most likely.
Stecher? Lmao good luck with thatWith Emberson and Stetcher I don’t really see the point of signing any of these fringe guys anymore. Schultz, Barrie, Lindstrom etc. We don’t need more maybes. If we're adding a RHD it needs to be someone that is legitimate top 4 guy. Otherwise it just feels like a bit of a waste of time.
And Justin Schultz is better? He had a miserable season as Seattles 6/7 dman and is 34 years old.
