Man Nedved was such a perfect fit, I was so sure he’d play with us for a few years. He would have been great with Hemsky.

I can’t blame him, probably hard to say no to a supermodel wife.

Edit: I don’t even remember his 2nd stint with the Oilers.
That wrist shot he had. Used it so many times after we got him at the deadline. What a beauty.

I definitely think we should make sure whoever it is is buriable. So that's 1.125 unless that number has risen lately. But I agree with you in that every 100k matters. You'd think PTOs will take what they can get (although maybe some bottom feeders are offering decent cash but they want a good team)
I mean these guys and their agents aren't dumb, they know the situations with the team, so they know the "dollars" will be offered.

The year that could have been. Nedved and Hemsky were magic together. Even his second stint when he Nedved and Sykora played together before Nedved got injured was pretty nice to watch. The real unsung hero during the 03 season though was Adam Oates. He turned Horcoff and Stoll into face off specialists. Paired with all the young guys playing for the roadrunners during the lock out year that team was a result of the end season run of 03/04.

What do the Leafs want for Nick Robertson? Does he make our group to small?

My problem with Robertson isn't that he's not very fast. We need bigger physical wingers in our bottom 6.

Ideally Ryan and Perry are off the roster. I think Lavoie has a realistic chance at being our 4RW. I would keep an eye on the waiver wire if we need another winger (assuming Kane is injured to start the year).

Shattenkirk is interesting.. haven’t watched him too much for a few years but if he can skate I know he’d be NHL caliber and reliable enough.

As far as Crosby, god it would be a dream to have him join the Oilers. He would definitely choose Colorado though and part of me would love to see it, except I’m sure they’d f*** us over and win the Cup.

Maybe if we had some Olympics the last few damn years McDavid and Crosby would be buddies, winning two golds together.. stupid NHL.
He’s fallen a lot .

I worry his tank might be completely empty, but he had solid results against non-elites in Toronto.

My worry with guys like Perry, Ryan, Giorano etc is that these guys are going to play more than they should. If they are playing good than fine. But I just feel the leadership core in general prefers veteran players. I hope Jackson, Bowman, Knoblauch, Coffey etc have their eyes open.

Yup, it's tough for coaches not to trust the Vets.
