Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. a PPG player on a 3M contract would be crazy.
If I was the Blues I would want at least 2 1sts just for the retention.

That's the thing, that means our pro and amateur scouting needs to be *better* not worse. Our GMing needs to be *better* than theirs, not worse. One good move for every bad move is not good enough.
We can't afford to have deficiencies in these areas because other teams already have advantages.
At least be great at something for crying out loud. If you're not going to pro scout well, then at least draft great. If you're not going to do that, then at least have a GM who knocks it out of the park better than the field.
The 90s Oilers were able to compete at 1/3 the salary range even though their drafting sucked because their pro scouting and GM trading was fantastic. They landed Weight, Guerin, Cujo, Marchant, Niinima, etc. etc.

1. He probably wouldn't go elsewhere. He has a home in Florida
2. The sens are entering an organizational shift. They want to re write themselves and their reputation. (ex. not be CGY)
Because of this they just accommodated him. It will help them in the future bring players in.
They were bound by an NTC. They may have gotten nothing for him.

Is how I would think a deal for Parayko/Buch @50% would have to look at minimum. I don't even know if the cap works here either. It's an all in move for sure. No reason to be stingy with assets if this is the kind of deal we could land. Seems like every viable decent asset for the next couple seasons would have to go. Parayko still plays massive hockey for St. Louis too.
Still don't know if St. Louis takes the deal.

Yeah I honestly don't think so either. I don't think it's a realistic or reasonable ask to pull off a trade like that. But for shits and gigs, I added to the original offer.
Really it all comes down to how our big prospects are valued, cause the 1sts are going to be late.

You're right, but also they still didn't have to roll over. The "threat" of no trade is also an option.
