The KK signing is fine but what does this mean for Lagesson? Now we have Russell, Lagesson, KK, Samorukov in that LD spot.
That's the kind of problem all GMs should have. The simple answer is that there will be competition for that spot.

I'd also suggest that the final D spot, the #6, will share ice time with our #7 spot (the scratch). So it will be a prominent #7.

I'll say that if that happens, one will be a veteran, and the other will be a young guy.

That would mean that Russell and Koekkoek compete for one spot (honestly they might just give it to 4k unless Russell is a lot better)

The 2nd could be between Samorukov or Lagesson (or potentially a different young guy like Broberg). They might prefer to give it to Lagesson in this case, for waiver reasons, but again, if he's outplayed by a lot then you got to send him down

You let them compete for the last spot. I can't count how many times this team back from 2007 until now where we just gifted the spots to players and never had competition. It makes people earn for the icetime.

Exactly how I feel about Tippett.

Agreed. Since when are we against having depth?

I have a prediction that Holloway will start with the Oilers in the bottom six and that Tippett will love him so much that he will play the whole season in Edmonton

Holland likes marinating. I think the team is deep enough without him. I see Holland asking Tipp to hold him back even if he is slightly better than some

Honestly I think the D is the Achilles' heel of this team... not the goaltending. I think the goaltending will hold itself together with a hodgepodge mix of Smith/Koskinen/Stalock and they'll actually have an average... to maybe even slightly above average season in net collectively.

Defense on the other hand I'm not as optimistic about.

I think the defence is better than last year. My only issue with is that we basically have 5 two way defenceman and Barrie. Not having a defensive specialist like Larsson will be a much different look.

Does anyone else get the feeling Yamamoto is being shopped with Koski for a Goalie upgrade ? I do

I've felt that way ever since I realized that Foegele seems to have played more RW than LW in Carolina.
