Now it looks like it should . Georgian put up as much of a fight as was in them but they're clearly not at Spains level.

Nice finish from Olmo.

Feel for Georgians. Enough shit going on for them to have their hopes dashed.

Don’t let this result fool you. Spain are soft at the back and lack a reliable striker. Still one of the best teams left, but not invincible.

We don't need both, we have Lamine covering the right flank for the next 20 years.

Spain needs to find a way to incorporate Olmo in the starting lineup. Maybe that Fabregas fake 9 position.

We need cover on both flanks, but we’re likely not going to be able to offload Ferran or Raphinha anytime soon. I’d prioritize Nico and in the meantime get Felix on a cheap loan again. Kvara will cost too much anyway.

Georgia isnt at a tournament level. It's the reality of a 24 team tournament that teams like that get in unfortunately.

I doubt Georgia would have gotten through if Portugal still had something to play for in their last game but they did not.

Well yeah, if they play Portugal first, then Turkey then Czechs, they probably crash out with 0 or 1 points. It's ironic that Portugal basically hand delivered Spain such an easy Rd of 16 match.

Then and there
You can feel for France tonight as well.
Our team tomorrow will be cheered by millions of people asking for them to go back to the country of their parents or grand parents if they hadn't played football.

Isn't the situation pretty much the same in Belgium too, so that's not a reason to choose France over Belgium.

We definitely have a lot of parallels heading into the QFs

In Belgium some have the heretic thought that Dutch-speaking immigrants might be preferable to French-speaking Belgians.

Perhaps with the rise of the Flemish independence parties amongst the biggest ones, we will see two separate football national teams in the near future. Would solve a lot of other decades-long disputes at the same time.

Hopefully the process goes as smoothly as the break-up of Czechoslovakia.
