Makes him a good gamble in the 5th rd, body, check, skills, check, skating, uh oh.
Worth a lottery pick to see if a skating coach can improve him to close to average.
If so, he's got middle six potential.

Definitely someone to watch in college this season.

Don’t like the move either but with the new rules I would assume he is just repositioning to go elsewhere either next year or play as an overager and go to another school the following year. Kinda thought he would have had a better showing at Ohio State though.

Going back to junior from college hockey is rarely a promising path. Especially when you are a freshman who will be 20 in 3 weeks.

Think this is going to be more common with the new landscape. Buckeyes are a senior/junior laden team with eyes on competing for a Big 10 and possible NCAA title.

Not sure a fourth line role is the best avenue for Powell's development.

Between the transfer portal and the CHL, college hockey is becoming a place for 21+ year old players.

He's a 5th rd pick, not going to lose sleep, some work out . . .

Knuble at 20 is leading scorer on Notre Dame, Bump at 21 on a heater at Western Michigan.
Knuble 4th rd, Bump 5th rd.

Powell was an overage pick off a hot overage season, gambled he might be a late bloomer, especially with his hearing disability.
