About what I expected...Habs come out flying, hitting pushign the pace and making the Rangers play sloppy with the puck. Lots of bobbled passes and not supporting teammates well enough and Montreal getting to loose pucks.

But Montreal was also pretty sloppy, not a lot of crispness to their game so they didn't really take advantage all that well, and Rangers had enough push back to score on some chances and let Lundqvist do the rest

I think the shot differential is probably a bit misleading as the Rangers really played it conservatively for much of the 3rd, but still, excellent game by Lundqvist, he was picking pucks out of crowds and had no holes in his low game

Rangers need to play better next game but can't complain about a 2-0 series lead and all

A lot of the Habs chances they did not get to the puck for a followup. The defence did a good job of getting position on them and pushing them out. The first 15 minutes were kind of dicey, though, where the D looked to be in a mad scramble.

Nice writeup.

Firstly, I'd just like to point out that although there is a long way to go in this series, up 2-0 coming back to NY is the closest this franchise has been to playing for a cup since 1994. It's nice to take a moment and let that sink in.

I'll also say this, with Henrik as dialed in as he is and Nash scoring goals, the Rangers would be a tough team for either of the western teams.

Rest up, and be ready for the Montreal onslaught come Thurs.

“@PLeonardNYDN: Rick Nash comes out for his postgame interview and gets a congratulatory handshake... from Matt Harvey #Mets #NYR”

agreed.

having the next game not until Thursday is going to help Brass the line and the Rangers big time.

Also practice time, I still really feel like having time to run some practices helps keep them sharp, especially when their game starts getting kind of sloppy like it was tonight

“@stevezipay: Asked how Lundqvist played on a scale of 1 to 10, Rick Nash said "Twelve"”

I thought Eddie's word for that third period was perfect, the Rangers were "surgical."

Their third period defense is just a thing of beauty.

Yeah, we gave them some decent to great first chances, but we kept rebounds on goal to a minimum.

Hank isn't going to let in anything that he can see or isn't deflected.

Joe and Evan going to kill him.

BRO!!!! CMON!!!!!!

Yeah, great job limiting the Habs rush and at most giving them one weak shot before turning it the other way, taking a chance if they had it and if not, dumping the puck and changing. Lots of quick shifts again as AV rotated through his lineup.

Honestly sometimes it's frustrating when AV rolls this lines so much because I feel like I'm saying "where the **** is Nash and Kreider, or St Louis, or Zucarello? they haven't been on the ice in forever!" but ultimately it's working and keeping the team fresh

The way McD is playing like a Norris Candidate, since game 5 of Pittsburgh has been.

If we make the next round, Hank has a great shot at winning the Conn Smythe Win or lose

This is just too good.

“@BauerHockey: With a goal and an assist tonight, @RMcDonagh27 has 6 points in his last 2 games. #OwnTheMoment #NXGâ€

While this series is not over, I predicted that McDonagh would not be outshined by Subban. In that not only will Subban do poorly against the Rangers, but that McDonagh would shine.

6 points in 2 games with a +3, as opposed to 0 points in 2 games with a -3.

Just saying :).
