I keep getting told for a million times that the USHL is an older league than the CHL.
Couple of things you should know:
1) I don't look at the CHL as a whole. They are 3 separate leagues with three different characteristics about them. Besides, the QMJHL skews all the numbers from age, to stats to draft. Therefore, I refuse to look at the CHL as a whole
2) I exclusively cover the OHL. However, I have said it for a few years now: The USHL is the best junior development league in the world. OHL comes in 2nd IMO. The USHL and OHL have two different development agendas. The USHL primarily develops players for the NCAA first before they go on to the AHL - NHL. The OHL develops players for the AHL - NHL. two different paths with the same end result. I just think the USHL is better in their developmental success which to me makes them the better development league.
As for the USHL being an older league?
Average ages (USHL is for 2020-21 the other 3 are for 2019-20):
QMJHL - 17.07
USHL - 18.32
WHL - 18.40
OHL - 18.91
You probably saw it on twitter. That was a direct response to someone who told me :CHL typically looks for players that can step in at 16 or 17 and be a regular in the lineup. USHL is more patient so you see less young players there....
Point is, if you are going to engage me and mention a league you know nothing about or don't even follow, you better have your facts straight or I will come back with facts
