We are actually witnessing a changing of the guard.

The old eastern powers (bruins, lightning, capitals, rangers, islanders, penguins)are vanishing and fading.

The new generation of contending teams in the east (leafs, hurricanes, devils, panthers) are now coming of age and taking over. The Sabres and the Senators will join this group next year or in two years. They just need a legit goaltender.

Why do I read that with the LOTR narrator voice in my head?

LOL

GLG!!!!! Every series gets harder folks!!!!!! This series is gonna be fast .. and more edgy than Tampa series .. Bunting keep your cool please .. we need game 1 .. heading down early today for festivities

where are you egtting this floriday owner talk from out of curiousity
Saw some people discussing it on the main boards, all just kinda hearsay at this point. Apparently their owner has a horse in the Kentucky Derby which is this saturday. Also, Miami Heat have a home game on Saturday as well (dont play in same arena but possible fan overlap).

Busy Miami sports weekend causing schedule issues for Leafs-Panthers series

What do you get when you cross Miami Heat forward Jimmy Butler, F1 driver Lewis Hamilton, and Toronto Maple Leafs star Auston Matthews?

One heck of a wild sports weekend in South Florida, it seems.

While Toronto will be hosting the Florida Panthers for Games 1 and 2 on today and Thursday, dates for Games 3 and 4 on the road have yet to be announced.

Part of the problem seems to stem from the fact that the Miami area is already hosting two major sporting events this weekend: a Miami Heat-New York Knicks playoff game on Saturday at 3:30 pm, as well as the Formula One Miami Grand Prix with testing and qualifying events on Friday and Saturday, and the full race on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 pm ET.

Saturday night is a traditional sweet spot for playoff hockey games — especially a big-market team like the Leafs, but it appears the logistical hurdles will be felt by both schedulers and fans interested in attending alike, with road closures and, well, a heck of a lot of extra tourists expected throughout the city.

Lmao if that’s the reason I hope the NHL, Leafs, and Rogers tell him to f*** off.
